As a red I wanted Alonso, or one year of Mourinho chaos then Alonso. Turns out Slot is great. As a friend said to me "The problem with Arne is that he just picks whatever starting 11 he thinks will win that day". Our record isn't immaculate and players that previously tolerated being subbed off because of the trust they had in Jurg are now annoyed under Arne, but as a Scouser who cares about the badge more than the names on the back I don't have any complaints really

Got to say I disagree with Liverpool needing a number 9, yes if someone amazing was available we should be in for them same with pretty much any team but the front 6 are more than good enough to get the goals needed. Jota is amazing scorer but was unlucky with the injury against Chelsea. Nunez played good when he came on and on Wednesday. If we needed a signing I would of said a CB over ST.

As a Liverpool fan im not surprised that we’re playing at this level. As good as Klopp was for us the truth is that there over the last 24 months or so we were a poorly coached team. Our playing style got found out quickly & was in need of freshening up, as you couldn’t expect players to be running at full intensity and gung-ho over 90 minutes every game for years. We needed a better defensive structure & a more controlled style of play to help us get the best out of the technical players, along with mitigating injuries. We still have work to do but Slot is a great successor so far & with some new blood in the team I don’t see why we can’t be in the title race both this season and for years to come.

I believed signing a no.9 under Arne..would hurt the current squad chemistry. Those front 3...in any combination.....work hard for each other and the team in general. Mo is the leader..the top dog of the attacking line on top of part of the squad's Leaders circle. The leaders in the squad had been VVD, Trent, Robbo, Ali and Mo...and they invited Macca this season to join the Mini Leaders circle. And these mini leaders are equal in votes and voice. You can see Macca in recent videos..commenting to Diaz and Nunez and Szobo about their lack of defensive work..and need to defend and trackback more....and Diaz need to pass more. I still have belief in Jota as our striker and Nunez when he sub in or start. Until he score goals, Nunez took on Bobby's defensive role during his false 9 days. Good thing under Arne, all players will get game time as he firmly believed in player rotation and managing their playing time to minimize injuries.

I want to think a World class Beast of a striker like Haaland would fit us. Thats the reason i want Nunez to succeed, because all he really needs, in my humble opinion, is to fix is his composure... he has a good shot, but mentally i think he lacks coolness. Jota has that i think but he isnt as capable physically as Nunez. Same with Gakpo. I also think that we lost the title due to horrible referees against top 6 which was outside our control, and then Everton and Crystal Palace which was.

Difference between Klopp leaving and Ferguson leaving was Klopp had already started the rebuild in fact i think had he stayed Liverpool would be a problem this season, another difference is the replacement. Slot is very similar to Klopp there was nothing similar between Moyes and Ferguson apart from them being Scottish. Tho i would like to say Liverpool ain't dominant like they used to be under Klopp like Liverpool didn't let Chelsea have possession Chelsea outplayed them and had they been solid and clinical things could have easily gone wrong at Anfield. Let's see how they fair against Arsenal or Man City.

Liverpool need ... a number 9??? :D As in someone to score goals??? :D :D In the centre - Jota is perfect, though has his injuries. Salah can play there, but probably better on the wing. Nunez is more than adequate but Slot's not played him much yet so is hardly going to find his form. Can be brilliant, can be disappointing / damned unlucky. Diaz is great on the wing and chips in with goals. Elliot is coming through. Now we have Chiesa also - got him on the cheap due to recent injury record but once upon a time was one of Euro 20's star players. Go figure. In order of quality (imho obviously): Salah, Nunez, Jota, Diaz, Gakpo, Elliot, Chiesa but there isn't much in it between the amazing top 5. And Chiesa is an unknown quality in a red shirt so far. One of the best attacks the club's ever seen / the world has ever seen. -Do they have trouble scoring goals, usually?- *SMFH*
@me244693 ай бұрын
yes and no. Liverpool's problem last season (in fact in previous years, of why we always lack 1 point) has more to do with dropping points against teams like Luton, Leicester, Crystal Palace, Leeds, Nottingham Forest, failure to beat a poor Man Utd. Yes, picking up points against top 6 teams are good but its the draws and loss against those very winnable games which cost us. City didn't win all the encounters with top 6 teams but they bulldozed all other team 14 teams in the league. I hope Slot acknowledge that and make sure job is DONE against these teams, I dont mind they parked the bus against Southampton so long its 3 points. Sadly its the reality living with this Man City team. Nottingham at home is a warning.

@@RabonaTV I apologise if I came across in a rude way, and I do appreciate the gracious response. TLDR: you didn't introduce him as a Liverpool writer, I judged him on what he said, and he said he didn't see stylistic differences in Liverpool's press (among other things), so I assumed he just didn't watch Liverpool enough rather than cluelessness. This ended up being an interesting experiment. You normally introduce guests connected with the club as such, so I assume they know what they're talking about *and* can't cross-reference that with my own knowledge, since I no longer watch as much football as I used to. I always enjoy hearing the club fans' view (since they watch every game unlike footy writers and have no interest in hyping headlines/storylines/agendas) and think this is one of the best things about your channel. The lad from Inter sticks out in memory, but there were lots of others. Here, probably inadvertently, you didn't mention his credentials, so I judged him based on what he actually said. Frankly, I'm surprised. You can write off his 'interesting' view on what Mac Allister's role is (he's an offensive player, fan consensus is we don't want him to play as a 6 in a single pivot) or the issues with Szoboszlai's performances (illustrated by Slot subsequently playing Curtis Jones instead who, again, is creative) as a difference of opinion. No problem with that. TAA does invert, but somewhere else (further forward and less often) since Slot doesn't use him in a box midfield like Klopp did, but OK, that can be missed if you're having a bevvy and/or singing. But when he said he saw no stylistic differences in Liverpool's press.. The triggers are completely different (no details, already wrote a wall here), under Klopp the press showed the ball wide to use touchline as limit whereas under Slot we show it in the centre instead (mostly), the shape we press from is entirely different, we no longer compress the active pitch area by pushing backline super high, traps predominate rather than gegenpressing, the list is endless. I'm just some guy on the internet, but players have stated as much in interviews (without the micro detail). Love your content (I use it to follow all the footy I don't have time to watch across European leagues). I'd love to see a Liverpool guest in future who can do justice to the rest of your content and give your viewers a better picture of how we play and a more accurate sense of how the fanbase thinks things are going. Slot has done far more, and far more detailed work, than what the guest implied here. You can still see the Klopp DNA with blistering transitions (in the right situation), but the playstyle is quite different (and the fans at the game are still working on getting used to it). Soz for the wall of text.
