You can leave the guest gates out by adding elephant grass upside down just below the surface. The animals cannot cross it but your guests and staff can. It works wonders.

adding onto this, cus i fiddled with it a little bit: it specifically has to be the elephant grass _stands_ (not the strips, those don't keep the animals in), and the tips of the roots do need to be visible above ground _juuuust_ slightly so the animals don't just walk over them (unless i was doing something wrong, it was a little finnicky to get it to work, but i also haven't played the game consistently in nearly a year lmao) but can easily be covered with other foliage / decorations so it's not as obvious -- otherwise? it works wonderfully, and you are a _saint_ for this little tip!

@@brannwen thanks for the addition. You are right it needs to be the biggest elephant grass set. I’m usually okay with the roots not being visible but then again my eye sight isn’t the best so maybe I just don’t see it but it is there. 😁

17:50 Unless I'm very much mistaken and/or something has changed, you shouldn't need the guest gates for the guests to go in and out. Guests will follow the path and just phase through whatever you put in the way, so you can build a normal-looking door. You just need to put something to keep the animals in. And now, with new Sandbox options including no escapes, you may not even need that. So you very well might be able to just leave the doors open and everything would be fine. It's all looking great! Including the Alpine area, which will be a really pretty place for the ibex and lynx. The way the city came together is amazing.

You don’t have to use the guest gates null barrier will do the trick. Just have to have either solid wall that guests will jay magically faze through or something that blocks the animals from getting out

Hey BIS, I’m a huge fan and wanted to tell you something I saw earlier today. Now, this isn’t related to Planet Zoo but I knew if you would look at comments it would most likely be your most recent video. So I was on the Jurassic Outpost website and saw the Jurassic Vault that was stuff about Behind the scenes photos and saw the Dominion section and decided to click on it. I then saw 3 photos of vehicles from the set with the Biosyn logo on them, including a Plane, a smaller car and a truck that was being transported in public (one thing though is that the head of the truck had a DFW logo so I’m not sure about that). I just wanted to share this in case you found it interesting. Thanks for reading!

I do not recommend Planet Zoo if you are a former Zoo Tycoon 2 enthusiast hoping for a kind of "Zoo Tycoon 3". I regret buying this game - pure disappointment. The only thing that is actually good is graphics.

Former ZT2 lover here, Planet Zoo is great but you need to really need to learn how to use the system in which the game is made in. After you do that, it triumphs over ZT2, but the skill build is awful at the start. Don't get too discouraged at building at first, I was a shit builder at first but with time and practice it gets so much better.
