Just a mention for travelers that tipping in Slovenia isn't necessary. It's normal to give as much as the price says and the waiters won't be mad or anything, it's normal. Maybe in very fancy restaurants, it's nice to leave a tip but there is no need anywhere else. But nobody is going to stop you from tipping, so it's for you to decide if you want to or not.

@talcarman7498
@talcarman7498 4 жыл бұрын
@@emilytsp6689 Yeah so turistic places like Kranjska Gora, Bled, Bohinj and other are generally a bit more expensive. Ljubljana is by far the most expensive. The catch is that you can stay a few km away or on the outskirts and get super cheap prices. And dont come the first and second to last weekend of March as there are two sport events which drives the prices up. Hope it helped

If you would ask a slovenien citizien you could find a cheaper place to eat and have very very delicious homemade food. (not from the supermarket). We are very presize about that. That s why americans would liked that food because it has the flavour of nature and homemade.

justdie905 Village and town are different classification how they operate and what kind of buildings of importance they have... so you have villages with thousands of people and towns with only few inhabitants... It's not how many people or buildings it count, it's a classification matter... Piran is maybe small, but it has it all, and it's also the main municipality of that area, it has it's own coat of arms on car registrations which villages don't have... etc etc... villages also don't have main squares, city halls, mayors, cathedrals ...

As a slovene i'm quite shocked how a foreigner calls a town at the coast cheap although it's commonly known among us that beside Ljubljana (the capital) they are the most expensive. Go inlands if you want to have it cheaper but try to look for the places which are not so full of tourists (eg. Bled/Postojna). Nothing wrong with them but we have other beauties as well :)

the reason why every Slovenian thinks everything is expensive here in Slovenia is because our salaries are lower. you find more expensive stuff where the salaries are higher (thats why some products dont have the same price everywhere). so for someone that comes from a country where they have higher salaries (therefore more expensive products) our prices are quite low.

Well first thing... Piran is not a illage it is in fact a town ( we are a small country so okay i get that u thought it s a village considering u re from the states ) 2. U actually choose a bit more expensive restaurants ( believe me search a little bit more not by the seaside u re gonna find pasta for 6 e sure ) 3. U may think that Slovenia is a expensive country ( okay u re right ) but u have to know how are the salaries here ( shitty, that s why i moved out :D ) 4. Nex time when u re in Slovenija and u wanna see how cheap it is , try going in villages and guesthouses there, cause u were in the tourismus district in Slovenia now ( word of advice : next time try Koper for example and ull see straight away what i mean and it is a coastal town aswell ) , but for the real experience try Štajerska region ( Ptuj and the soroundings or Prekmurje ( Murska Sobota )

Thanks for sharing a nice video, Piran is overall really expensive, you have many other places in Slovenia that are 2x less expensive. If you will ever find come to visit Slovenia again feel free to stop by our office, we have really valuable information about mountaineering and trekking around Slovenia :)

Thanks for the video. Suggestion; when you list hotel prices, please include what a couple would pay. Not just a solo traveler....thank you...
@GabrielTravelerVideos
@GabrielTravelerVideos 7 жыл бұрын
Normally the price for a room at a hotel for 1 person or 2 person is the same, since most rooms are designed for two people. But it depends a lot. For example in this case it was a room with a single bed for just 1 person, so the double room for two people would have been a little more.

Thanks for that. However i was asking if you would please, in the future, list the actual price for two people along with the price for a solo traveler. Thanking you again for your efforts.

Ok! I need to go here. I have come to Slovenia twice - Ljubljana and Bled. The prices seem lower than the first, about the same as the second.

Those prices were still pretty steep compared to the rest of the country. If you want cheep food/drinks stay away from the coast and Ljubljana.

You can buy that stuff in supermarket at much cheaper price and eat outside. No need to tip anywhere in Europe.

Thanks Gabriel. This place looks stunning. I’m trying to knock off every European country myself, mainly through cycle touring. I’ve yet to go to Slovenia and some of the surrounding countries in that area. Greetings from Cyprus, when this corona crap is over give me a shout if you get to Cyprus. There’s a room here for you 👍
