Absolutely stunning scenery. I live in Japan and central Japan has scenery very, very, very similar to this. I noted that the curves were numbered, just as they are here. This kind of scenery is what has in part kept me in Japan for close on 30 years.

When you said " We've got the decent down" -- is that in contrast to a decent that goes up? Ha, Ha! (just some friendly teasing. not Trolling). Boy, you really want to climb those winding roads (set so close to the edge) very slowly and very carefully -- especially with the weight of a camper van. Those were some gorgeous views. It relaxes me to see them. It's amazing that you were actually able to drive up so-o-o-o high and so close to the very top of the mountains. Dougal looks so relieved to be back at the base of the mountains... maybe he doesn't really do heights. Thanks so much for sharing, Andrew.... that was super ccol.

Impressive! Certainly well worth a visit, here in Latvia the highest peak is 300 mtrs! They call steep inclines mountains LOL, I think I need to share this to show what real mountains look like ;) 152 km in a day! Wow, once I get mobile I'm looking at fifteen km a day maximum :) And, certainly no mountain passes!

Thank you so much Andrew for taking us along on these wonderful journeys. The videos are so perfect I feel like I'm there with you. I really admire people who can do all these things on their own. You are correct! My only guess is to slow down traffic on the bends.

Thanks - up here in Aberdeen when we had cobbled streets and it rained they were lethal with no grip so it puzzled me why they were on the corners in your video.

Able to withstand wear, pressure, weather? Easy for maintenance? Relics from the past? Decades ago there was just macadam and those granite cobbles on the bends.

Lovely. That pretty much covers it. I understand the short distance to long time ratio. Looking at a map sometimes you have the tendency to say "That is only the distance of my thumb!" At the end of the day it appears that the thumb has grown weary.
