If you know you are about to run from the police in any capacity, turn on google maps, apple maps, wayze, something that allows you to see your available straights, or any bends. If you have a passenger, they need to become a rally navigator in that moment, meaning mapping future routes and giving bend intensity estimation. Driver must be locked in to his resolve to get away. No half assing

The 636 definitely has the power to get away. His bike did look like a 600 atleast (not that a 6 couldnt get away just the same). .My thought is he probably didnt have the gearing do to his sprocket choices. I know my 636 will easily do 170 with oem sprockets. This dude was topping out around 125-130. To large of rear sprocket most likely.

Stock gears would leave you with a top speed in the low 150s...doesn't matter what your indicated speed is, unless you have a properly calibrated speedometer using something like a speedodrd or similar AND you have the tires properly inflated to factory spec..

@ I have checked and compared it to a gps and those speed radars, I’ll be honest it does read about 5 mph higher at 75. I won’t argue it’s off for sure 😅. Top actual speed of a stock 05 636 is “supposed” to be 166 according to tests back in the day. Regardless of my slight exaggeration, a 636 should be able to out run most highway patrols if you ride right.

I went down a small rabbit hole after this video I saw one where this dude doing 80 in LA and they weren’t chasing him, just the helicopter. He looks like he’s paying attention then BOOM! He hits a turning car and you can see his body fly off in a cartwheel like a ragdoll. The post footage was super graphic. I saw a dude run with his wife and the slammed into and fell off of one of those highway bridges. I’m sorry guys! Call me what you want, Best I’ll do is a drop top. I saw another bike cop just sitting and the mayors driver made an illegal turn out of the lane and a small sedan sent it (a frickin Tahoe) flying back into the cop. He look like he lived but man. Bikes be on possible GTA mode/lookout everyday!

Every sport model of the Kawasaki line is Ninja from the 250 300 to the 1000 H2 H2R. That seemed like a 650 or 500. The 636 can do 170. But you also need the skill to go that speed.

I pulled over for a sec then took off for a while then pulled over again after going 117mph. On my 600 only time i would run on the highway is bumper to bumper traffic and run the white line or to get to an area that i knew well.. 600s dont have alot of top speed but they do have acceleration.. he should of taken the cop on some back roads and make right hand turns and used the acceleration...oh and rider skill cuz if he had skill he wouldve known what to do

Obviously a pretty old bike considering the rear incandescent lights. Judging by the acceleration and top end power, looks like a 600. Top speed wasnt that great because the rider wasnt tucking properly, had a jacket which was creating more drag, and the dude probably had underinflated tires considering he seemed to have great grip

Not all 600cc bikes are equal. Even the legendary R6 tops out at around 160 with proper skill levels. He needed a R1 or H2 with Hitman-level skills, and he would have gotten away.

You all should take note of the rider's comment, when the cop ACCUSED him of running and the rider responded with, "I don't remember running." To the average person it may seem like he was just trolling them, but in reality, he is denying their false allegation and this entire unlawful arrest. Why? Police do not have the authority or right to arrest anyone without first getting a warrant. The only time the common law allows a warrantless arrest to be made, is if the person is known to have committed an actual felony (Murder, Rape, Incest, Robbery) or the cop witnessed him commit a misdemeanor, again at common law. Statutory/legislated "crimes" do not count here, so "felony fleeing" or something like that is a bullshit charge that they only hope you are dumb enough to accept. By denying their accusation that he was running, he forces them to prove that he was. As far as I could see in this video, it was just a man minding his own business traveling freely on the FREEways, not causing injury or property damage to anyone. Then, for no reason whatsoever, a road pirate decides to chase him, and then kidnaps him. By law, all arrests are presumed to be unlawful until the one making the arrest can prove that it was lawful - and with warrantless arrests almost ALL of them are decidedly unlawful.
