It was indeed an improvisation, I usually have a few plays over the progression just to get an idea of how I want to structure it and to see if any motif's catch my ear. Thank you! The backing was a chord progression I played into my loop pedal. The progression is Gm7 - Cm7 - Gm7 - D7 - Gm7 - Ebmaj9 - Gm7 - Cm7 - Gm7 - D7#9 - D7b9. Hope that helps!
