Wat type of knot u use and leader. My knots tend to fail but not because of slippage. A 100lb leader would snap at the knot around 60lb. So im scared to yank it hard like u do or it snaps.
@PelagicPursuit893 жыл бұрын
jigging is 30-50lb braid with 100leader and is freakin hard to break. popping is 80lb braid and 150lb leader which is near impossible to break

Hey matty I make a few 150mm bibless crank baits which I made for Murray cod but I’ve just made a few heavier ones painted up like fusiliers and hassar, I was just wondering if you would be interested in throwing a few over the reef flats and deeper reefs? I’m just curious how they’ll go and if the salt fish will rip them to pieces. No strings, I just really want to know how good they are and I won’t get to locations like yours to try them any time soon.

im just jealous of the calm sea and strong line Everytime I went offshore kept end with rough sea and current And the 30lb line u using is way beyond capable, I purchased 30lb line that cost 60$ for 300m , end up performing worse than 20$ line , loosing many fish
@andreasoulis2 жыл бұрын
Great spot there mate ! Just one remark... Jigging - and very much more so Slow style - are technique where spinning reels are not just disadvantage but limiting your technique evolvement ! Jigging - all kinds of jigging - mastery require finer and finer use of tackle .. Not small jigs but lighter rods Reels braided and fluorocarbon hooks assist cords - the whole nine yards ! To evolve this way you need to control your fight by thumbing and not reel drag . Then come practical reasons like the very often strikes at falling .. Also some of the most productive moves like 1/4 -1/8 etc pitching and short interrupted pitches are not very easy if not impossible by spinning reels .. Try close the pick up with a monster having taken the jig and smoking line off your spool... Not pleasant idea - yes ? It is commonly accepted that spinning reels are best for other styles - casting from shore or popping ... So - chose the right tackle - you won't lose many then ! Your control is essential ! No fish can easily cut you off when you have control of drag under your thumb ! Soon you will evolve further and use even lighter bait casting low profile reels like we use in Inchiku and Kabura .. Tight lines mate - wish I was there too !!!

With the cast spot, in that sort of depth would recommend to cast a popper first or stickabit first then if that doesn't raise anything then try the popper?
@PelagicPursuit893 жыл бұрын
ill always use a stick bait only because i believe feeding fish are generally high up in the water column and a subtle sticky is perfect but if your first few casts doesnt get eaten use a popper and try raise their attention

Gday Matty, How do you find the Daiwa Lexa for jigging? Are you happy with it? When those fish are pulling drag have you got it locked up aswell as thumbing the spool? Im looking for a jigging reel setup and just looking at different options as Ive been looking at the Ocea jigger 1500 but these lexa look the goods as well as being cheaper option.
@PelagicPursuit893 жыл бұрын
ive used the lexa for quite a while now and its going to be very hard to replace it. Im all about the level wind and with all my over head reels i run half drag and then apply thumb pressure to save the washers purely because i use them so much
