When winter comes and everything freezes the drifting season isn't over in Japan! Everyone changes to low-power cars & practices drifting on frozen lakes! This is a lake located in Nagano, Japan which is used by D1GP pro drivers to practice drifting in the winter time.

They are getting so Expensive now too . Altezza are around 10k here and a clean is200 is over 5k . Is300 is cheaper here than is200 because road tax is on engine size for cars b4 2008.

that´s basically what we do in north europe, we might not have much drifting culture but you´ll find an busy ice/snowtrack next to every village/town

I live in Finland in a town surrounded by huge lake and we have two ice tracks 5km apart each other every year. I used to drift rwd, bmw e30 and volvo 740 but now my daily is audi a4 1.8t quattro and i drift it at ice track.

ice drifting is like quadruple XP. it's great for learning throttle control, you can turn and position the car just with the throttle and minimal steering input. try it with no E braking and just throttle, you will learn a new way to control the car. also great for learning AWD drifting, the driving line is different with AWD and you can get farther sideways with less steering angle because the front tires dig and pull the nose in the direction they are pointed.

Aluminum has greater heat transfer than steel so would absorb and dissipate heat more quickly. Bought black aluminum door handles for my FD and went to grab the handle after work after the sun had been beating on it and quickly realized why aluminum isn't a good material for handles.

Need to get May out in her swift for a day of fun like this. Good practice for anyone and everyone. Here in the states we do this in parking lots when they're all iced over we call it getting a feel for the car but it's just a way to play in them and get better for real world conditioning because truth is you never know when you will need this knowledge. And to have it as a second nature feeling could save the day..

Really run us in Canada make our own custom studded tires and able to go 5x faster if not more. Over the tires without spike studs

@@jj-hf8jy we have tried the that go into the tire but I found that they rip out so what we did was take machine screws and nuts and sharpen the tips use washers and drilled them thru inside of the tire and added the nut to outside and tighten it down and then flex sealed the inside of tire and been using the same set for year now without having to replace any or break off. But very cool to see what so many other are doing around world 🌎 to keep on drifting in snow ❄️ party on everyone 🎉

Be nice to have all that space. We drift in the snow and ice on the back roads up the mountain somtimes with forestry rally tyres on . Never gets cold enough to freeze our lakes enough to drive on. 🇮🇪

Aluminum has a high thermal conductivity compared to steel. So when those photons from the sun hit those jacks the aluminum ones transferred more heat to the ice.

It's like a normal tuesday for me.. I live in Finland, here's slippery and ice like that everywhere and I have a same color altezza. But you picked the wrong tires, you need spike tires for that kind of driving because those friction tires won't work on pure ice. And I don't mean studded, I mean spiked. Tires with real, big spikes

So here's the plan.. this summer return with a remote controlled RC sub with lights and cameras.. dive down and see the cars if there's any worth salvaging, use remote arm to attach to hoist.. salvage car, rebuild if possible, and then drift it on the ice next winter.. booyaa.. content galore .

Im sure you dont read it but, for example Aasbo practices in ice tracks, they always have studed tires . you can find them trashing supras in youtube. he has always said it, its kinda useless to do it slow mo without studs. but still, hope you progress for next fdj season
