Beautiful video, Sam. I loved the wholesome interactions you had with people. That's what makes street photography special

I know a lot of people complain about Americans abroad, and I’ve been an American abroad before. But I have to say, you probably made that guy’s day by talking with him about his mobile photography. That was a classy move, and he’ll be talking about that for a while. I’ll also say that I spent three months in the UK and Europe a while ago, and the vast majority of my interactions were very positive.

Stunning, thanks for the beautiful photographs and the lovely views of Amsterdam. I live and work in Amsterdam, and it is always a joy to see the city through the eyes of others. You must have gone out quite early to avoid the tourists! Thanks, again!

😮Nice video man. Born, raised and still living in Amsterdam. Don't be impressed by those security guys. They have hardly any authority. Although you need some permission to shoot in Amsterdam Central Station the first thing you should say is please take a normal approach in adressing me sir to put him back on his place. The Netherlands is probably the most relax country for photographers. Hope you still enjoy shooting. If you want some tips where to go just state your interests and I will give you some tips. Carry on 🎉

I have a question and hope someone can help me out, so I just bought the a7cii with the Sony 50 f1.8 (cheapest Sony lens’s) for my first camera and wanted to know what “F stop” to use for like landscape photography/ for a scenery type shot. I was reading about the lens that its “peak sharpness” was “F 5.6” so I tried that and the photo was sorta in focus I would say but also had noticeable grain to it. But I did read that for landscape it needs to be like “F 8” or higher something like that. Does that lens have the capability to do those pictures. Once again I’m new to using a camera and what to use for these type of photos I’m going for. So any sort of feedback/help will be helpful to me. 😀 FYI, I was using “Aperture Priority”

At 8:30 you say keep your shutter speed at the same speed as your subject. How do you judge the "speed" of your subject for motion blur?
@Opticalwander3 ай бұрын
It’s a mostly a guess but for motor sport it’s a bit easier. I would assume the guy on the bike was going at least 15/20kph so I can work from that.

The “security” can not do anything. There always straight up thinking it’s commucial use. 😅
@Davad-fd7ky2 ай бұрын
Hey mate, I am from Amsterdam and I'm sorry how that unprofessional "security guy" approached you. You are allowed to take pictures in public and there's nothing illegal about what you did. Peace out mate.
@MartijndeValk2 ай бұрын
Actually, Amsterdam Central Station is private property owned by the Dutch Railways (NS) and ProRail. While it's open to the public, it’s not legally a public space. Therefore, activities like photography are subject to their rules, and they can restrict or regulate them as needed. 🙂
@Davad-fd7ky2 ай бұрын
@@MartijndeValk ok but still what is the problem if someone is taking a picture of a window? People can smoke weed all over our city and litter but taking a picture gets you into trouble? It’s absurd.
