Mike, I repowered my 31' CC with twin Verado 350's in November and after 3-4 months I can't tell you how happy I am. I was underpowered I felt and after doing a lot of research (it's a big investment obviously) I landed on the Mercury's and I am thrilled. I have a lot of respect for what you do and your recommendation surely weighed in. Thanks!

Hello capt. mike i've been watching show and I learn from watching but I have one question, you have mention one of your show about jigging of at least 25 feet of Leaders. Between Braided line and Leaders do you connect it with Ball Bearing Swivels Connector?

Quick question.. I'll be fishing between 100-300ft. I plan on SPJ with a rod rated for 200-550g. Can I use this rod with a lighter jig? something between 150-250g? My rig is 20/30 line/leader and I'll be using a Ocea Jigger 2000. . I also have a rod rated for 100-300g and can use that rod in case my first choice isn't viable. Any information would be greatly appreciated as you guy have always provided great and correct advice.
@FloridaSportFishing3 жыл бұрын
The 100-300 gr rod would be a better for the 250g jig in 100-300 ft but you can certainly use the heavier rod too, but its like shooting a rabbit with a shotgun instead of a .22 (is that even a good example?) Hello. What is a good set up for a beginner? Moderate price cap also? 100-300 depth.
@mrfish49el4 жыл бұрын
Torium 16hg, and for rod you can go super cheapo with the tsunami SPJ rods but they arent exactly SPJ rods but are a decent introduction. You can find temple reef stuff on sale sometimes or if your willing to play your chances there are some lighter interesting offerings from ali express out of China but no guarantees there.

This is interesting. I use the Gen 3 Hollow Core for most of my offshore fishing. It's a gel spun polyethylene (PE) line. Perhaps the regular braid isn't PE, but I'd imagine it is.

100-250G should work well. Really would depend on conditions. Current speed (speed of drift),wind speed, depth of water
