@@CaptCollierI plan on it when we get the new Boat finished, gonna have twins on that one, 29 feet long, with 160 gallons of fuel. She will be alot more offshore capable than my current boat. You'll have to come on over, and make a trip when were finished with the build.

Pro tip ,when your fish in the deep water give it a couple reels to get the scope out and then jig it up!!! Fish on!!

Was this yesterday [26th]? So glad you are cooking in the cast iron. Only way to fly. I have an 11" by 11" lodge griddle and I also eat fish everyday. If you have a restaurant supply store in your area go by there and pick up some el cheapo stainless steel tongs. They are so handy for reaching in and flipping the fish. They are only about six inches long.
@CaptCollier2 жыл бұрын
No this was about two weeks ago. And the cast iron is the only way to go! Usually when I use tongs the fish falls apart more easily so that's why I tried a spatula

Hey BC. Love your vids. What length and pound test top shot you use on that setup?
@CaptCollier2 жыл бұрын
Thanks I appreciate ya watching! And it’s all personal preference and what your targeting really, but typically I’ll throw on about 8-10ft of 40-50lb flourocarbon. Maybe even 60 if I’m fishing around some narly structure

@@CaptCollier you gotta admit, it’s kind of a sick feeling letting that much line out knowing you’re going to have to reel it all back in by hand!

DAT HOOKSET!!!! Thats how you start a video. Cant wait to get out there and so some slow pitch. About how long does it take you to get out that deep?
@CaptCollier2 жыл бұрын
Haha be careful, it’s addicting. And it all depends on what you cruise the boat at. It took us about 1 1/2 hours

that green eyed shark is called a spiny dog fish, be careful he will get you with the spine down by his tail if he gets the chance. there is also a regular dog fish that has no spines.

You need a heavier jig and you won’t need to throw it in reverse. Try a 600g in 1000ft
@John_Williams4212 жыл бұрын
And put 15 pound j braid on there😉
@CaptCollier2 жыл бұрын
I didn't have any heavier jigs at the time and didn't want to drop squid.. It got the job done. But yes I agree, 15lb Braid would definitely help with the scope
@chadorrell72242 жыл бұрын
I’d put that jig on a electric reel and put a wind on swivel @ 800’ and put a clip swivel on your jigging reel and unclip it once you get it up a little. That’s too far!
@CaptCollier2 жыл бұрын
I could, but what's the fun in that? Lol Ill probably invest in a light electric reel in the future. But For now, i have no problem reeling up that far manually as long as there is a fish on the other end.
