Slow Pitch Jigging Pully Ridge | Florida Keys Tackle Shops | Offshore Fishing | Grouper & Snapper
If your headed to the keys for a fishing adventure and need to tackle up. Don’t worry, we are going to show you some of the best tackle shops to stop at in the Florida Keys.
The first shop you will run into on your way down to key west is going to be Two Conchs located in Marathon. Not only is this a great stop to get tackled up, but they have a fleet of charter boats and are famous for their TV show. You could essentially end your travels right here, set up a charter, tackle up, and hit the water.
Next up on our list of shops to stop at is Captain Hooks in Marathon. This is a go to stop for a lot of charter boat captains. Wanna incorporate diving into your day? Captain hooks has you covered. You can stop by land or sea, fuel up, gear up and keep it going.
Third stop for us is Marathon Bait and Tackle. You can find everything from Slow Pitch Jigs, Trolling lures, and jig heads and just about everything you need to be successful fishing in the keys.
This one is a cool shop. The Tackle Box, also located in Marathon. This one of those Ma an Pops tackle shops that us fishermen love so much.
The Tackle Box is run by a husband wife team and they have a ton of offshore gear and also host fishing seminars.
Next up is Jigs Bait and Tackle in Big Pine. This one is a unique shop in the since that you can buy fishing tackle and guns all in one place.
For me Cudjoe Sales in Cudjoe Key is a special one. This is a spot I have stopped at since I was a kid. They have just about everything you can imagine for offshore fishing including apparel. To stop in this shop and see Johnny Jigs hanging on the wall definitely puts a smile on my face.
We kicked this trip off in about 600’ of water. Day time was a lot of mid water snapper and grouper. Slow pitch jigs where working will along with cut bait.
The night bite was great. The video footage not so much. The black fin tunas were thick, and we managed to pick off snappers and groupers on the jig throughout the night. The most notable catch was by Steve Sikes boating this monster Cubera Snapper caught on cut bait. Stay tuned to the end to find out who won the biggest fish on a slow pitch jigging. Along with biggest fish over all.
