SOOOO disappointed that you did the radio cut of this song. There's an 8:00 version of this that's SOOO much better.🤨😢 You said at the end that it had a perfect fade out. The 8:00 version doesn't HAVE a fade out. It has a crazy rising guitar BLITZ to end it. It also has a bass solo(sort of) in the middle that kicks ass. You NEED to go listen to that version and you'll wish you'd gone with THAT one. Imagine listening to a version of The Spirit of Radio where they cut out the opening guitar riff and the reggae-like part and guitar solo. THAT'S what THIS was like.

@@YosemiteSamification When I saw Slow Ride was their song choice today, I was anxious to see their reaction. However, when I looked down, and saw the ENTIRE run time of the video was just over 8:00, I KNEW they had chosen the short version, b/c the original version was ITSELF over 8:00, so that wouldn't give them enough time to do the song AND the reaction. VERY disappointed.

Todd Addison - I never really even thought about what the name meant, it was just always there. Your explanation sounds pretty plausible even if the official story is that it came from a scrabble game. Both explanations could be true: it could’ve arisen in a scrabble game and then they applied it to their other extracurricular activities! 😉

The sexual nature of this song really needs the full version to get it across. I am biased however, in a personal way. I had a good friend who was a knockout when we were in high school and college. She had a thing for cops. So one night, when she had been in professional life for a few years she told me some years later that she and her cop boyfriend were doing it in the front seat of his off duty cruiser while this song was thumping in the background. She was scared she'd set off his rifle, which she was straddling as well. Can't be any other picture in my head from now on.

Back in the day Foghat played in a bar in Brunswick,Ohio and the place was packed. I stood inches away from Kim Simmons and held the crowd back While they played. We just looked each other in the eye while they played and shouted to each other back and forth when he was not singing. Best night and craziest night ever.If you like this you should check out Kim's first band, Savoy Brown. I suggest Hell Bound Train.Home in my Hand is another great song. What we shouted back and forth, He was saying thank you dude and I was shouting back , you guys fuckin rock!

“I Just want to Make Love To You” is the first song I ever heard from them and maybe my favorite overall. "Honey Hush" on their live album is a true banger--same riff as "Train Kept a Rollin"". "Fool for the City" is good but a lower tier in my eyes compared to these other two. BTW, three of these guys left Savoy Brown when it was an early (late sixties) blues rock British band you guys should check out some time--try "Hellbound Train" and "Tell Mama" for starters.

How have you not seen Dazed & Confused?! It may be a 20+ year old movie about a night in the life of teenagers 40+ years ago, but it's full of solid the pop culture references that are still woven into today's American lexicon. And both editions of the soundtrack are amazing. Definite must watch and must listen x2.

The name Foghat came from 2 brothers in the band who liked to play Scrabble as kids. They'd make up silly meaningless words for the word game. Hence Foghat. That's the story they told years ago on a radio interview. Somehow I never forgot it.
