I'm in Michigan, and it drives me nuts when a friend or acquaintance talks about grinding *all* of the deer meat into burger or sausage. Had a deer a number of years ago, and a friend's Dad was a retired butcher. He processed my deer into roasts rolled with string, stewing meat and of course chops, backstraps and round steaks. Nothing was ground into burger. Ate like a King that winter! And at deer camp when I shot it, was a double lung and the heart was intact. That was dinner that night along with some liver bacon and onions! Cooked on a wood stove in a tent off a river back in the swamp.

Michigan man, myself. Yep, it hurts to hear of people just grinding everything. There is so much amazing meat to be had, for all sorts of meals. I have butchered 65 of my 66 deer, myself. The only bits that get ground up are the little scraps...maybe 5-10lbs.

@@jonathankeene168 ...it's all in the processing! I have not enjoyed anyone else's venison, no matter what cut it is...other than what my brother would make, but then again, I taught him. Burger, by itself....meh, I could pass on that, even if it is the best it can be. I grind mine with bacon...it's just "okay" as a cheese burger with all the fixins. It's pretty good as a filler though...ie...hamburger helper, chili, etc.

Robert I have to say that is one of the best deer recipes I've seen wish I could have some with you but what I want to say something about the Way You Tube is treating you as far as I'm concerned this is one of the best KZbin blogs that there is there's no foul language sure they may be blood from hunting but hunting is what we did for hundred years and if natural it helps keep the quality of the herd up. Also like I said you don't use any foul language and their other sites on here that if throwing the F-bomb around like it's candy so keep up what you're doing enjoy it extremely well and love watching cook over like I get more ideas about where I can cook so take care love you show have a blessed day

I hate to watch these videos but love watching them at the same time. I hate watching them because I no longer live in America and can't hunt anymore, but live watching them because I can no longer hunt and it lets me watch something I love to do. Wild meat is the best in the world.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank my good friend Jared and his wife Natalie for having me out and showing how beautiful Kentucky truelly is. Jared turned me on to deer meat for dinner and I instantly fell in love with the show it is informative, wholesome and just a great show, Jared reached out to Mr Errington and told him he wanted to do something nice for his wife on their anniversary and mr. Robert Arrington the amazingly nice guy that he is invited them out to his Ranch so they can hunt hog. So my friend Jared and his wife Natalie are going to have an awsome experience and the great plesure of meeting Robert for their anniversary which I thought was just amazing. I just want to say thanks to mr. Robert Arrington for doing this. He truelly is an incredible person. I just want to again give thanks to my friend Jared I can't thank you enough for sharing his home and his beautiful family with me when visited them. Thanks to Jared I am now a big fan of the show deer meat for dinner, Robert's food looks delicious and I love that he shares his gift of cooking with us all, keep up the great work, the show is awesome I love to watch you cook and you're in for a treat Jared and Natalie are some of the nicest people that I have had the pleasure of having in my life thank you so very much for what your doing for them.

It makes me feel good to watch your show. What really caught me was at the end of the show you said life is good, Monday we had a fire and lost almost everything I got burnt trying to save my dogs which I did,but my life is full of the feel of failure and depression. Watching your show gave me a small reprieve from that. So thanks and God bless you and your family.

Robert:A charcoal chimney starter tip for you sir. Turn the chimney upside down and you will notice the space in the bottom of the chimney below the circular holes. Take one or two full size sheets of newspaper, crumple them loosely and push them into the lower space, not up where you dumped in the charcoal. This allows for more space for charcoal, plus you don't clog the upper portion with paper ash while the charcoal is just starting to burn. Placing the paper sheets in the bottom allows for you to control the paper ash as you pour out the burning charcoal without dumping the paper ash into your grill where you will cook your food. This way, you don't waste your paper towels and you have another way to get rid of newspapers instead of just tossing them away.

Great recipe for a shoulder, I do it close to that, I add some olive oil to the veggies and season heavily, and add 2-3 cans of Rotel tomatoes and a few jalapeños. A pair of welding gloves work really well for hot grilling!

Sarah looks like she's having a wonderful time visiting her family back in Wisconsin. Her Mom and Dad are in their glory having the two granddaughters to themselves while Sarah is out trying to bag that big buck!! I'm sure your ready to have them back home soon, but it sound like they will be gone until maybe next week, with you taking the boy to Maryland hunting this coming weekend.

@@katyaks8770 dogs have been chewing bones for centuries even thousands of years. My vet an actual doctor. Said beef bones, deer bones, most mammals are ok. Its birds and rabbits we should be concerned with as their are like needles. Dogs and bones are synonymous with each other. But what do I know I have only had 15 large bread dogs in my short 34 years of life and all have been given bones not one issue

The venison dinner you are making is making my mouth water probably much like Isaac was thinking about about Esau's venison before Jacob substituted goat for venison. I appreciate you explaining the importance of having the shiny side of the foil next to the meat.
