For the past 6 years, I have struggled with Addiction. Watching DMFD and Bluegabe reignited my love for the outdoors and fishing. It has been a pinnacle point in my sobriety and whenever I am having a rough day I throw on a couple of your videos. My recovery is centered around fishing and backpacking up in the Pacific Northwest. Now with Two and a Half years of sobriety, I have been able to hold down a great job and save up for a nice bass boat of my own. Take it out a few days a week after work and do a lot of Salmon Fishing on the Columbia River. The outdoors and your videos reigniting my passion have been a lifesaver. Just wanted to say thank you for all you do! You truly make a difference in the outdoor community and sure have in my life.

Been there boss. Addiction is a beast and ruins everything u truly love. Cool to see you have sobriety for a while now. It's amazing how good it feels to go out and fish and hunt and just enjoy the outdoors. Instead of being dope sick or high. We ca live the life u always wanted to..I'm happy for ya. The world meets no one half way if u want something go get it and never let anyone tell you can't do something..

I have been a fan of this channel for years I live in Barbados and I am a former Police Detective Sergeant . I just love the way you and your family has progressed over the years . Everytime I hear you reminisce about your Grandfather it gets me kind of emotional because it shows that you haven't forgotten your roots and that he has had a great effect on your life and upbringing. It also makes me reflect on my Grandaddy who has long passed he was a very loving man an old cane cutter and plantation worker who despite that was a very brilliant man actually a mathematical genius . Gosh I miss him and hope to see him one day in heaven. God bless you and your family Rob . Keep up the good work. Respect!!

So stoked you were cooking a Cracker Classic! My uncle by marriage was a north FL cracker, and was so poor growing up in Perry that they couldn’t afford milk for cornflakes-they used CocaCola instead! All his life he used CocaCola on his cornflakes for breakfast, because he grew up a poor Cracker and proud of it.

Have you ever heard the story about the CocaCola millionaires in Quincy? At one time Quincy had the most millionaires per capita in the US. The banker noticed even when times were hard people would spend a nickel for a cold coke. So in like the 20s he told everyone to buy shares of CocaCola and never sell them. Well then did and with all the splits Coke has had those early $40 dollar shares are worth millions. If only your uncle lived in Quincy.

Hey brother, your living the good life. Most people will totally lost if we have to go back to way things were. Did you know the roots on those Australian pines make some of the most crookedest walking canes. When a storm blows the big ones over get your bow saw and start cuttin'.. Dry the root, peel the bark when it starts cracking. Like I said some of the most unique, strong, walking canes.

Man O Man - what a great video. It reminds me of some similar times back in mid 70s in deep woods central Florida (all built up now - St Cloud/Kissimmee area) when I was in late teens/early twenties. I had the privilege of doing some of this with two old black men I used to work with. They would forage wild food exactly like this and serve it at our annual company picnic. I'll always cherish those memories- and the chow! Oh the memories! Thank you for this!!!!!

Hey Rob, 2:30 The phone works but if you want to make it easier.. working in feed and grain business, alot of feed bin, hopper bottom trailers, gravity wagon.. have a plexy glass window now. Mainly to check feed level or what not.. you could make one easy your self for that feeder if you can cut a 4ish inch size hole (round or square) or what ever you want really and mount a piece of plexy over it. cosmetically have plexy on inside and with corn would be fine even if you mount it on the "cone" bottom. (edited..I dont know why i thought corn.. but big pellets flow nice too so same thing..) but technically mount it outside so it dont stop the flow but with corn you will be fine. Maybe silicone it too so water dont go in especially if you mount the plexy outside. Pre-drill holes both plexy and feeder and bolt it on using big fender washers on plexy side. But...phone works too. lol Anyways I left my comment hope all is well! :) 7:18 do you have wild grapes? That kinds looks like it maybe a grape vine on the swamp cabbage. I live in MI so not sure on Florida having grapes. research it but if you do have grapes you can put a little oil in your cast iron and deep fry the leaves as a crunchy snack. That does look good! Never heard of swamp cabbage. Very interesting and cool how its cut into pan. We have skunk cabbage.. lol very different. Awesome video I learned some stuff ty! :)

We literally said farewell to the old family home in the Welsh Valleys on Friday. It still had the pig rings in the walls, high up. You string the beast up by the rear legs, belly out, and start the cut just before the urinary tract. A blunt-nosed blade and a basin ready to catch the lights and blood, then down to the head and decapitate it with an axe. Next, flay it, removing the ends carefully - a Stanley knife's good - then separate the muscle groups. Stew the head slowly, for stock, while you wash the entrails and salt them for sausage casings. Likewise the skin until you can get it to a tanners. Pork trotters are cooked and picked apart.

When I was a big kid , I carried a case lockhorn pocket knife , but I kept my double bit axe razor sharp. Carried my salt n pepper , hooks lines , ammo , carbide light , ina homemade shoulder bag. I've ate lots of wild game and fish wild vegetables, sometimes get garden stuff from people who I knew well enough. To pay later , or help with chores around

Glad to see you're back Rob!! Love these videos! I've yet to try swamp cabbage yet since moving to south Florida but it's on the list. You make it look SO good!! Lol. Unfortunately I've been dealing with some medical issues that make it kind of hard to get around. So unfortunately I haven't been able to explore and fish and do alot of stuff I'd like to do or try.

The book "A Land Remebered" is a great read about the "cracker" culture. No fence laws in Georgia till '56, lots of wild cattle.
