I work for a similar type of company to yours gotta go through 4 or 5 different people before a job gets the go ahead by that time it doesn’t get booked back in for a week or two and an hour job has taken weeks to sort. Your doing the right thing giving your guys authority to price certain jobs, some bosses might worry about the workers seeing how much money they make you and taking the plunge to go by them selves would get to tempting. But I think most would just like to get stuff done there and then and have some control over certain jobs.

Thanks for the comment pal, it seems a lot of the larger business's are like that, it's too inefficient. I am pretty upfront with my team on figures anyway. We cant let that hold us back

I saw you in Westhoughton this afternoon and was only thinking your hadn’t uploaded for a bit. Sounds like a good way of streamlining. Like you said, efficiency is the key. I’m only a one man band but, over the years, I’ve managed to make things a lot easier for myself by doing different things through trial and error.

I will look out for you SI, Im normally day dreaming 😬 All about the efficiency, first meeting with the lads today to start breaking it down 👊🏻

Are all your guys employed do you ever employ subcontractors? I’m off the tools at the moment with a broken shoulder, but it’s giving me time like you in covid, to concentrate on the running of the business. Oh and I name my company after myself as well 😁
@rjmartindaleltd10 ай бұрын
Yes all employed bar one Electricians and Drainage are outsourced but I will be looking to also bring them in-house Completely different mindset when all your team are employed - you have to make it work

Great video Cuz, the flow chart at the end it well explained and I’m sure hits home with plenty of business, as you say this is what holds people back on growing the business, not having these processes in place

Great video pal missed them the past month or so! Don’t your lads have a general van stock like thermostats, 2 ports, etc, etc for them types of jobs to not have to leave the job to collect parts after giving a quote for said part to replace/repair?
@rjmartindaleltd10 ай бұрын
Appreciate that pal. We do but, we need to put better systems in place for stock management and really utilise our software. I’m still torn between Commusoft / SimPro There’s a lot of time involved to get it right but on a basic level we need to improve 👊🏻

@@rjmartindaleltd which one are you gonna use obviously it’s something that you need to deal with asap due to it costing you money daily while lengthy time on open job through to getting paid on these types of jobs!

I think you should look for muslim plumbers in bolton as they will not need a holiday during Christmas. That way you will be good for December😅

Give me a shout if you need a chat sometime mate. We have bags of processes like this and have shrunk it with price lists and automations . We create pipelines for staff to follow. Soon as I see a time drag of potential headache, I try nip it straight in the bud exactly like your doing. Good luck 👍

Appreciate that pal, I sent you a lead the other day. We have a number of homecare plans in and around Blackpool / Fleetwood from the new company BHE It’s abit of a stretch to get too when an emergency comes in Are you guys running GHL for your lead flow ?
@newboilerblackpool10 ай бұрын
Yes mate we use high level for that. But those pipelines are also good to use for internal stuff. We have a recruitment pipeline so when we need staff we have a full set of pipeline stages to work through. We manage our Homecare plans through that too and servicem8 is our crm. Cheers for the lead up this way 👍

Another great video, full of info. How do you deal with engineers qualifying and leaving (for whatever reason). Is it just written off as unfortunate, or is it a hard hit on the business??
@rjmartindaleltd10 ай бұрын
Hi pal, I noticed one of your comments on my cousins page @gmwindowsdoorsltd Where are you from? In answer to your question, I have not experienced that yet. The recent young plumber had only been with us 3 months ish. He came from another company so I did have my doubts but i gave him a chance. That being said, you always have to be mentally prepared to lose any one of your team

Great content as always 👍. From your experience how easy is it to get in to the industry once fully qualified? I’m down in London have got my ACS next month (hopefully ) but looking online for jobs everywhere seems to want 1 years experience as a minimum . How would you advise getting 1 years experience when on your own. Only thing i can think of is servicing as many friends and family’s boilers to gain confidence then reaching out to local firms .. Be great to hear your feedback mate
@rjmartindaleltd10 ай бұрын
Alright Charlie, Its always going to be tough to start with but if your committed you will soon get sorted, Few tips on what I would try: -Hand tools, Analyser ready to go -Offer a day a week to multiple business at your cost -Service and strip down all your friends/ families boilers -Post to Local Facebook groups / Next door app (Newly qualified gas engineer offering boiler services at £50) Do this so it just covers your time until your ready to go, not to make money -Watch every video on HeatingGeek - KZbin (he is the best) -You will naturally have some confidence if you do all the above, im sure somebody would place you 👊🏻
