Yes love the stitched tags. Please do/show more. What about just outlining the rose petals with running stitch in pinks, maybe this would still allow the beauty of the fabric to be seen.

I so wish I had the patience for slow-stitching. (I don't have the patience for "slow" anything, lol) I love fabric in my journals, but usually only as tabs or page edging or in clusters. These are beautiful 🪡🧵

Yes please, more slow stitching 😊 Really loved what you did today. I go to a crafting group and a couple of us have both of Tilly Rose's books. I used one of her designs as inspiration for a slow stitch journal cover. Had a lot of fun making it. Can't wait to see what you make 💗

Hi Kari, I’ve just started some wool felt embroidery so I found this video very interesting. Thinking of adding a personalised tag similar to the one you showed us to the fabric Christmas bonbons I’m making. So sick of the cheap paper bonbons. I think that rose fabric would look nice with a curved pale piece of fabric around the bottom and right of the roses, then embellish on that piece so the roses are left. Love those books you have too. I’m thinking of making a slow stitched, embroidered Midori cover soon. Thanks for the video, once again, so inspiring.

Thanks so much Helen, that is a great idea about that rose fabric and I also love your idea of the tags for the Christmas bonbons! 💗💗

The sari silk is gorgeous and love how you incorporate it with so many different materials. You also mentioned your hexi quilt is almost finished. I do hope you will share that with us. A wonderful episode (and beautiful manicure) ❤️

Thank you for showing these fabric slow-stitched journal cards! I would love for you to make a journal cover as well. I've tried and my fabric always shrinks as I work on it. I have yet to figure out how to get the end product to be the size I want for my journal cover (to cover a 9 in. x 12 in. base). If you have any ideas, please let us know. I also ordered the lovely book you showed to help me with this, as well. Thank you again.
@KariGibsonArt11 ай бұрын
I think it's a bit of trial and error to get it to fit perfectly. What I would do is have a separate base cover and attach my stitched fabric to that. I shall experiment and record it in a future video. Enjoy the book, it's lovely! 🩷🩷

Loved this, Kari! This was fun to watch. I've only recently been watching more and more slow stitching on YT. As you know, we are both fans of Janet and our Arty Farty Annie. Both of them enormously talented and a joy to watch. Sadly, I am no longer able to slow stitch as my arthritis has gotten quite bad in recent years. I so love to see it done, though! Thank you for sharing your skills with us. I'm definitely keen to see what other projects you have in mind. I'm sure they'll be wonderful! Much love and bless, dear Kari xoxo

Beautiful pieces Kari, and if I've helped to entice you down the slow-stitching rabbit hole then that makes me very happy! I will look forward to seeing how you use stitching in your journals. If you would like a couple of ideas for slow-stitching into that gorgeous floral print - you coudl do lots of seed stitching into just the background, in a similar colour, so it just adds lovely texture and makes the flowers stand out. You could also "thread paint" just one or two blooms/leaves as a focal point, or do a small whipped backstitch outlining the shapes, or maybe stitch in a couple of extra sprays of foliage :)

Thanks Annie, that is a great idea for the background of that lovely fabric, I will do that! 💗💗
