Slow Travel | Spoken Word Poem | A Poem on Belonging

I first encountered the term "Slow Travel" through Nathaniel Drew's video, "There is a Better Way to Travel The World (My Secret)". There is a big difference between visiting a place and living there. When you spend an extended period of time in one location, you begin to learn and enjoy the simple things of daily living. You find your favorite cafe, your favorite grocery store, your go-to place to relax, the shop you could browse for hours, etc. You start to belong to that place and cease to be an outsider looking in. But even after spending months or years at that one place, there comes a time to move on. And even though you have a better understanding and more insight to that place than a common tourist, you realize that you have been looking at an iceberg and there is still so much under the water to discover.
