These are very beautiful and precise basic waltz which many competition ignored. The close views of footwork shows the stringent requirements and instructions from the Russian teachers, hats off to them. They must have danced since 6 yr old, with all the good qualities built in their dances. The same couples did in the slow foxtrot basics are even better. 🙂🙃😊

When I pay extra attention to the close footwork views, it show the lead and follow, precisely 1/4 to 1/8 second timing. This is the results of many many younger years hard work. Great jobs. 😉

Each everyone of the ladies came on the floor with a smile, then looks at the guy with a sweet smile before they start. People think this is required for all the standard dances during comp, but this has been emphasized by the teachers since 6 yr old. A sweet smile and looking to the guy is like saying " OK, forget about our arguments during practices. I am not angry now, let's do it. " A peaceful gesture is also a very huge encouragement, since the guy has to lead the entire dance, and is more serious and worried, especially in a big national comp. Good job, Russian teachers. 🙂😉

I wish all the ladies could read that...some of us started dancing at retirement, and it takes time and practice to get good. Those ladies forget that one day I will refuse them because of there disdain, and they will sit in chairs. Ladies be nice. Good comment John.

Do Russians have a certain gifted talent in dancing...? Ballet, dance sport, both Std. and Latin...? Or is it the result of hard training from their infant years...?

To whoever made this video, Generally I love it, but a big problem is there’s a lot of close-ups of the feet which I think is just mostly annoying. Just with the standard view we can see the feet perfectly well, so there’s no point in having close-ups where you can’t see the whole dance.

It illustrates and highlights the Russian emphasis on clean proper footwork. If you have had a Russian instructor perhaps you would understand.

The dancers are judged on the musicality which is how they fill the musical space and the precise timing required. Viewing footwork is great way to judge musicality.

Evgeny and Anastasia. The King and Queen of waltz. On the planet. Evgeny ALWAYS hits the 1 beat perfectly. This is the secret of waltz, and he keeps the most beautiful figures of waltz, Natural Turn and Reverse Turn, clean and whole, without undercutting it at the end. And he beautifully hesitates a bit when closing, to mark the end of bar. After this unique waltz (and also a remarkably beautiful waltz by Ivan and Elizaveta), came the downturn: What happened to Alexey and Anastasia ??? Alexey destroyed the possibility of excellent movement, by having his weight too far back. So he did not accomplish the movement of a champion. With weight forward. The young couple Ivan and Elizaveta had a sensational performance. A bit unruly in the past, now they are perfectly calm. Their performance is so perfect and musical, that it could have deserved the highest thinkable score by the judges. The world has got a new super-talented couple. If they continue like this, they become world champions.

Wonderful Competition. I like it very much. This is again Dancsport. Hope after 20 Years it will be again, next Year in the Olympic. 👋👋👋

Ivan and Elizaveta are the Best here (even though I always preffered the dance of Sveridonov). They are literally the only ones that did not break the connection between each other. Literally in every other couple the man is leaning too much backwards so they break connection during the processes of changing position from promenade to closed.
@BorisShirokikh2 жыл бұрын
I could not believe that with such mistakes in the basics Alexey and Anastasia could get high results

Do you think it is a good practice for the man to dance the spin turn from the high feet? I feel that it is comfortable and easier to do, but, as I thoght, it is correct to descend first, then make a step backwards with the pivot...
@helgechristophersen76652 жыл бұрын
@@BorisShirokikh It is important that you note man is leaning too much backwards in other couples than Ivan and Eiizevita. To see waltz done perfectly, (except from Ivan and Elizevita), see Arunas and Katusha honor dance 2011 Royal Albert Hall on Szymon channel, or by seing their name on internet. And see Marcus and Karen Hilton in Blackpool final 1998 "This waltz is a masterpiece" on Szymon youtube channel, or on their name on internet. Three perfect couples.
