The haunting, opening melodic flute makes it sound like some kind of medieval ballad, a sad tale of a woman trying to get to heaven, a melancholic tale told on a street corner by a music bard. When slowed down like this, so you can hear it more clearly, I partly wonder if that was what they were going for anyway, a kind of modern, updated equivalent of the medieval ballard.

You can't...because the song's pitch has been lowered, his normal voice would sound off pitch when added to the track. The only way is to change the speed but not the pitch, which you can do with tools online. Not much you can do.
