I've watched many videos on wedding photography, now more than ever with my eldest recently announcing her engagement. The advice here is extremely sound and professional and without a doubt would result in great outcomes. If you want to understand how to approach to soft issues of a wedding day, dealing with the bride and groom, their family and VIPs, as well as other professionals involved in the planning and execution of the wedding, this is worth a listen.

Love that a lot of your tips lean toward Indian weddings. I've run point at a lot of Indian weddings (big family). How do you feel about point(s) who are being coordinator(s) telling you at times where to go to (applies to 2nds as well). Have done it multiple times when I knew confetti drops were to happen and would try to have a shooter ready for a drop

#1 is a bit tricky. I'm horrible with names. I'll remember the bride and groom of course but somebody I met a few minutes ago? Probably not

it was a bit tricky for me too at the beginning but i found a tutorial on quick memorisation on YT and now I can remember at least 20 names easy but most of the time 10 is enough . It works with associating the names with things kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2ezoIidbM-LqaM

Great advise, ty..... I'm getting ready to shoot my very first wedding and so when it is time to eat and when the bride and groom are sitting down and eating with everyone, do you all not sit and eat? Do you still take pictures. Just wondering how this part of the wedding goes for the photographer...... Need info or advise please.....

At a wedding normally you not take pictures of people eating. Yo can concentrate on details, ornaments, etc. Also is an opportunity for you to check your equipment and eat something. If is only you or you and one assistant, you can request to be seated with the invited and have you spot at the table, do not eat at the kitchen or under a stair. Better you bring your own.

One thing many folks dont cover in videos like these - not trying to steal your thunder - is when approached and asked about prices for someone elses shoot, and or provide business cards. That to me is a major no go. Personally i dont think its professional to try and make extra business while im on the clock for my current client. I respectfully, tell them that i will be more than happy to provide the same but only after the shoot. Or that they can contact the bride and or groom to get my information. I know if i carry some business cards it can be a quick exchange but some of the guests by this time are a bit tipsy and get chatty. Ive even had one guy - on more than one event - ask about photography gear and techniques during a shoot. Im like look, ill take some time at another day and help out but now i need to focus on what is going on. Just wanted to through that out there. Yes we should seize every opportunity to get business but it comes at a risk of "missing the shot". Frank
