Hitting centipedes with electric spears actually recharges the spear's battery. So if you find a dead electric spear, you can recharge it by stabbing a centipede with it!

Very interesting how they reacted to the red centipede given their prior behavior, okay, slugpup analysis time! Bingus being the most combat oriented compared to the others figured out that on it's own it likely couldn't take on such a dangerous foe and opted to hide since it couldn't reach the others for backup now being stuck where they were. Then you have Fleece, who likes to assist and toss a spear or two during combat when the others are distracting their foe, freaking out since it was one of the first to encounter the red centipede and quickly escaped, not knowing if it would follow after them or not, and having zero clue where the others were, usually relying on them to do most of the fighting and them helping from the sidelines, and not having anyone to distract the enemy meant that if they were the only one with the red centipede, they surely would get killed, so they panicked and stayed where they were with the spears and a quick exit if needed. And lastly, Jib and Onion were trying to figure out how to take down the red centipede now that they were both kinda stuck and by now figured out that spears won't do much, had to figure out how to get a sporeshroom to possibly combat the red centipede. Okay slugpup analysis over.

Later, Jib tried to grab onto Onion. Either Jib was trying to kidnap Onion, or, the more likely option, Jib was attempting to escape from the grappleworm by trying to grab Onion as he was going through the tunnel so he gets pulled off of the grappleworm. It was very early in the experiment, so it didn't work. This was because Onion had not yet eaten centipedes for half of the experiment yet.

I find it rather interesting that this iterator kept the slugpups in barren containment chambers at the start of the presentation. It is more than enough room, but they do require toys to stay enlightened and happy.

Onions behavior is quite interesting. While I've haven't interacted with slugpups very much, i am aware that they have favorite foods and hated foods. While it would be easy to just check the stats, onions favorite food is definitely centipede, but it looks strangely obbsessive here. perhaps it has to do with how arena handles food, so onion thinks that they are holding an uneaten centipede and onion thinks they are hungry.

Small notice: The behavior of centipedes changes with their size. Overgrown centipedes *actively* seek out prey, whilst juveniles tend to run away from the player, and seek smaller prey items. However, since you were using beastmaster (which messes this code up for some reason?) the juveniles acted exactly like the overgrown ones. Not much of a big problem, but still worth pointing out ig.

Centipedes tend to attack creatures closer to their size, and run away when they are bigger. An overgrown centipede would rather attack a green lizard than a yeek. you were probably thinking of infant centipedes, as they can be picked up and even by any slugcat.

Centipedes never actually eat the things they kill, I don't actually think they are predators just insanely aggressive grazing prey animals that attack anything similar in size to them, also that was just a small centi not a juvenile so it will still definitely attack things it sees as small enough

ya know, when I heard you say something familiar with tight spaces and good at using shortcuts I was lowkey expecting scavs. That being said, wonderful play by Bingus at 12:00, they know that centipedes are movement based predators, which are especially keen when they stop moving and would have had a hard time getting to a spore puff or out of sight. Sometimes the best play is to wait for backup. Jib coming in clutch later with a well aimed spore puff was wonderful.

The battle against the Red Centipede was incredible, and Jib smart play to finish it was astonishing, but i love Bingus initiative in every combat he get involved, he even "saved" Onion at 7:03, who was distracted eating the previous Centipede carcass and didn't noticed the other Centipede approaching, Bingus push him away trying put him at a safe place, then they get stuck at pipe and Bingus quickly thinking made him grab the Shock Spear stucked in the small Centipede corpse n instantly throw at the enemy, hitting it before the Centipede could electrify Onion, omg, that little fella it's a real survivor!
