I like how the E3 Neyla art gives less hints about her true intentions to keep it less spoilery, Don't know if that was intentional or not or they just updated it for artistic reasons but it draws less attention than the final version where it's quite clear she said something that cast suspicion on her as well and gives her a more a antagonistic air. It's also interesting to see that this early version of the cutscene is where the Carmelita picture in the pause menu originated.

I found it to be moreso referencing the tension between Carmelita and Neyla. Especially as Carmelita almost missed Sly escaping which is surprising she let her guard down that much to argue with Neyla.

Huh. The demo I played was the one on Ratchet and Clank 3 which I cant remember had the E3 art style in the cutscenes. But I do remember the Clockwork roar sounding more robotic so I assume your using the E3 audio and not the Final audio in this video.

Yeah same I first played the bonus demo version on R&C3 so this is an older demo version than the one we know of! I really like the Art style differences and it's interesting how they changed it up ever so slightly for the published one!!

Sly 2 seemed to have a bit of a problem when it comes to these animated cutscenes, they had different people do different scenes, so the art style changes a lot. They got a lot better at this on Sly 3 tho!

@@CooperCurse I was just about to write a comment about this. 0:21 Is a good example at how derpy the characters look on the left while the right seems to be a lot more refined and similar to the artstyle throughout Sly 3. What I find weird is that they updated this scene with a less abstract, more detailed artstyle, but left the other scenes untouched. I would’ve figured that they’d do a complete overhaul on the artstyle in all of the cutscenes if they didn’t like it, but perhaps they concluded that the scenes that were animated (rather than still images) would be too expensive and time consuming to re-do with an updated style and just had to settle on leaving them as is. 🤷‍♂️
