@@scottjohnson3903 I dont think that really counts as a phase, that's more of a whole boss battle. The electricity, fire, and water all count as phases cause they're in one fight. And when you're between the ages of 5 and 7 like I was, you won't realize how important avoiding attacks is. Also, who didn't struggle with that fight and Dimitri's missions that could have been designed better

My own list of this, partial speedrunning knowledge of the game, can change some stuff. 17: Dr.M (Beast) Mainly an auto scroller 16: Panda King memory 15: Muggshot (EP 3) Quite easy, as you mentioned, the pistols is reason it's easy.. keep shooting and stand close enough so he only uses pistols. they damage so little it's easier to just shoot. 14: Carmelita (Australia) 13: LeFwee 12: Dr.M (plane) Reason is quite simple. Speedrunning strat for him is just flying in close and keep shooting face up close. 11: Dr.M (Sly) He's simple enough if you can get your push attacks in, as they will stun him quick enough to chain it. 10: Black Baron (on "ground") Push attack is doing good damage, or just keep swiping quickly. 9: General Tsao: Reason is simple.. push attack or knockout dive, do those near a wall and he can be stealth killed. if not? #1 for sure 8: Octavio (Murray) Dodge the flip up, otherwise punch and maybe flop on him. 7: Octavio (Bently) Just dodge everything and it's good enough 6: Black Baron (Plane): A bit like Dr.M but can be a bit more tedious 5: Mask dingo ep 2: Simple enough, run and it's fair, but he can still reach you from annoying heights. good fight tho 4: Dragon... fuck it's bs but try to hit water when he throws you off 3: Tsao (Phase 1): fun, but the shots can be off throwing. Love it more than some stuff 2: Kraken 1: Dr.M(dimitri) screw the controls, it's tedious

Sadly my copy of Sly 2 got damaged and the game crashes when you try to enter the lighthouse in Jean Bison's part 2 for the recon mission. I recently tried to replace it but the replacement couldn't even start up - fortunately it was refundable. I really need to try and get another one some time. Overall I like the levels better in Sly 2, especially Demitri, Rajan 1, and Jean Bison 1 (I wanted to like the Contessa 2 but I'm not a fan of the tanks and seemingly fewer enemies roaming around). Sly 3 had replayable missions, which would've been awesome in Sly 2, which if there was a specific mission that you wanted to replay (like that mission in Contessa 2 where you had to use traps against waves of guards), you would have to replay the whole game again or have a save file specifically for that mission. If I'm not mistaken there are only 3 save slots available in Sly 2 so that becomes a problem if there are multiple missions that you like. I feel that Sly 3 had better missions overall, but Sly 2 had a few that I like more than all of them. I can't say which game had my favorite bosses, but Dr. M was definitely my favorite antagonist of the trilogy. Sly 3 also had good ship battles before Assassin's Creed Black Flag even existed. I haven't touched Sly 3 in a while but I remember a challenge where you have to fight as many ships as possible before you die, and I was addicted to it for a while, my record being 45~ ships.

A lot of the stuff early on I would say is spot on, but seeing you put the black Baron's plane fight so high...I wouldn't personally. Octavio in both phases is significantly harder. His jump attack is not that hard to dodge as you just wait a second after he stops screaming: "HUUUMPH!" pause -Stomp Stomp Stomp - It's just an audio que you have to hear. Everything else is just a dance around his attacks as all are easy to dodge and just whale on him with your cane until he falls off. The adds also go flying with single swings with your cane and are not difficult to knock off right out the gate the moment they spawn. I am fairly successful at knocking all of them out immediately as there is plenty of time to position Baron before he flies off the ledge to grab hold. I found it as one of the easier boss fights in the game personally. General Tao is also fairly easy in his first phase - because of your double jump you can just dodge one way and then dash at him in the middle very easy. Unlike him you can move in two directions before needing to land, which makes positioning and attacking very easy. And his second phase is not that much more difficult (It was when I first played) but it's simple and you have the right method: Push attack to save as much bambo. But once you got the bambo to dodge his dragon or undead hands - he isn't much of a threat with his other attacks. I would honestly label him as number 2 though. You could swing wildly if you had good situational awareness though and just keep a circle of empty space to fight in, using the bambo when needed and jumping back into the circle of nothing to fight. But might get hit by his shield from time to time doing that if not careful. There were not many other battles to really directly compare to - sly 3 had quantity over quality in my opinion. Which was fun - but not many 1 to 1 battles for direct comparison that stand out as difficult. Dr. M was significantly harder, especially if you didn't have knockout dive attached. I found him to be the most difficult as the final boss - really worth it. His charge dealt tons of damage and was hard to dodge if you were using your other abilities as you were right in front of him. The fire and electricity also dealing a lot of damage and flooding the field. I ended up in a really bad loop against him where all he did was charge attack and nothing else; which gave no room to counter attack at all or even hit him to stun him. I got one shot so many times against him too it was just frustrating in general but felt worth it in the end. Over all - if one had to label all the chapter bosses it would probably be 6 Mask of Dark Earth - 5 Lefue - 4 Baron - 3 Octavio - 2 Tao - 1 Dr. M.

This was years ago, back when I played Sly 3. One time I challenged myself to try and chop down all the bamboo in the forest before beating Tao. The objective was to clear the forest and then beat him, to see if there was an achievement for it. I had no such luck. My approach was to chop down the bamboo on one side of the river first before battling him, then spend the rest of the time chopping it all down in proportion to his health bar. After at least 40 or so attempts, my main reason for losing the challenge was one of us dying before we could get it all down. In the latter half of my attempts at this, it was only on the other half of the river where I would keep dying. The bamboo forest is much bigger than you even realize. It was a hard challenge for me at the time, but it would be fun to revisit.

Tip for the Black Baron : when you have the intermediate phases with the pigs coming out of the plane, just stay at the left of the window, and spam the square button. The pig enemies have this animation where they bounce on the floor when hit instead of going up and hitting you straight away. This animation makes them bounce out of the plane, making the fight much easier. Also, using the first level of Triangle + Square combo (I'm French so I don't know the name of the attack in english sorry !) Is faster at hitting than any other level, which is usually the most efficient way to do damage to enemies (in my opinion). To be completely honest, this wouldn't be the order I would put these bosses in, but I really enjoyed the video, great work and thank you for it !

General Tsao's infamous phase 2 is actually super easy if you know the exploit. All you have to do it get him down once, and as soon as he stands back up, use the push move as quick as possible to push him back down before he can even start the next move. You just need to stay on top of him with no mercy, and he won't even be able to return any blows because he can continuously be knocked down

Tsao was hardest but still my favourite. I love the fight on the bamboo tips, it's overall my favourite mission. I hated the fight down the bamboos, always took me millions of tries and it even gave me slight anxiety attacks as a kid 'cause the monsters scared me. But last time I played it it literally took me like, 10 minutes or under?? He didn't even have time to attack me at all. I finally learned the strategy to beat him in minutes without him attacking me with monsters

Push attacks work well on Dr M final phase as well. I never thought to use Knockout Dive. Although to me that doesnt sound like a very good strategy as that requires refilling the gauge with a health pickup. Push attacks have no cost, they are quick to charge, and it has enough pushback that Dr M cant immediately hit you after.

The Doctor M flying whale fight is actually pretty easy if you manage to stay right in front of him. The missiles won't it you the green lasers too and you deal damage really fast. But the other Dr M fights are really challenging

Funniest how I just beat this game again and got 100% the other day and got the platinum for it. The hardest boss has to be the Dimitri under water one or Dr M. The others were very easy for me, but that’s probably because I beat them a million times in the past. Octavio can be pretty annoying at times. That first Tsao fight is all about patience and timing and it’s very easy when you get the hang of it. The 2nd Tsao fight is pretty easy too, but on the Master Thief challenge I learned that the push attack is a very fast way to kill him. It can still be tricky if you rush him too much but that move is OP. Worked on Dr M as well

Out of 17 boss battles, including the 5 main bosses (I do not consider the Mask of Dark Earth to be a real boss), none was a Bentley boss battle. Sly had some, Murray had one, even Penelope had one, but not Bentley.

Tsao was so hard for me as a child, mostly in part due to I didn't know about abilities and stuff for some reason. Now I usually find myself just actually using my abilities when I play the games, makes it way easier.

I'm surprised Muggshot's Carmelita phase was halfway up the list. My perspective: I've always cheesed that fight by standing on the roof of a building near that starting well, pinning him under the ledge, aiming straight down and pumping rounds into him. Occasionally I'd have to jump up to dodge his dynamite, but it didn't get much harder than that.

Technically some of those were the same boss such as with the mask where you had to battle it several different times, the black Baron first in the plane fight then on the plane, don Octavio in the boat and then with Murray, mugshot with Murray then later Carmelita, and of course the numerous fights with Dr. M. Yes this game had 17 bosses when counting each encounter but if counting each of those as a whole it actually is much smaller.

I always disliked the fight with Dr M as Dimitri in phase 2. Cause prior to fighting him as Dimitri, you have to get through the part where you dodge the crab pincers. And that was always a struggle with the underwater directional buttons lol

lol recently had a dream about sly 5 after not thinking about it since the movie never happened lol and here i am also vivi don't forget to use your combos lol they are the most powerful thing in sly 3 for Murray the good old triangle square is good for the grunts where as if you have a big opponent then using a special skill or just all out smashing square usually gets the job done lol on another note I've use the push attack lvl 1 or 2 (i forget which is available but get the strongest one at the time) against General Tsao if you learn his knockback movements you can get him into a loop where you can constantly push attack him making the fight extremely quick and easy-ish tip for anyone who hates Tsaos battle part which can be mechanically challenging but the power ups and the combo moves along with the game play is why i like the first 3 games to me its better because not only are the skill sets cool and are retained and improved throughout the games but the game play mechanics fluidity of the game and camera motions and overall feeling of the first 3 games were better though the 4th game does bring consistancy and i never really noticed any serious bugs for example in the first 3 games and in the sly collection you can tap the run button and not alert the guards but in the forth if you try this your sure to be spotted at the very least

lol i wrote this before finishing the video lol but yea i think i would put Dr.M or Tsao can be interchangeable as 1 or 2 depending on how good you are with Murray Octavio can be annoying but the RC chopper right before mugshots gang attacks the hangar is also hard actually some of the missions are harder than the actual boss fights

Did you know you can shoot the laser cannons in Dimitri's fight against Doctor M and they'll stop charging? You probably do, but I'll mention it just in case Really helped me in that fight cause I cannot dodge them laser beams

I don't if you tried to make some bosses look hard on purpose... For Muggshot and Carmelita you just step down and start spamming pistol shots. He spams you with the pistols. Carmelita is super tanky, so dodgning only 20-30% is enough. I have never been in that scenario you showed in the video. For Dr M, with the bi plane, you follow the same strategy. You hold r1, spam l1 and stick on his tail. The missiles miss you most of the time, and you should be able to tank a few random hits. For Octavio canal chase you can stick to the side during laser phase and bomb phase and keep hitting him. You can even damage boost a bit, the boat is tanky enough.

Muggshot isn't that hard to defeat once you understand you just need to jump on the catapult, near the castle, so you automatically dodge his shooting, and all you need is to find the right angle to continually shoot him ^^ And yes, Tsao was such a pain when I was a child xD I mean, so far the game was all cute and fun, then suddenly it became hell difficult ^^

Vitnivii isn’t there a very important detail about sly copper rematch boss fight with the panda king sly is only fighting the only reason he’s trying to kill sly is the general solowo from being forced to merry panda kings daughter in an enraged wedding.

I'll be honest; I had no clue that there were 17 boss fights in total in this game, that's pretty dope to think that this game has the most amount of boss fights in the series. But yeah, I'll see if I can rank them all from worst to best. 17 - Carma-Larger - A boss fight I'd prefer to forget for so many reasons. 😓 16 - Lefwee - Like the idea of pattern base boss fights but this one seems pretty simple for the most part so I don't see too much uniqueness to it. 15 - Dr. M (UNDERWATER) - Like the idea of facing a boss with Dimitri's controls but the fight can drag on for so long that it becomes repetitive. 14 - Dr. M (SKY) - For being a fun boss fight that utilises the plane controls well including the newly added rocket launcher but that's all I can say for it. 13 - Black Baron (SKY) - Pretty much the same deal as the one I ranked at 14 only without the rocket launcher and the fact that it can go by quicker. 12 - Octavio (CANAL) - It was pretty fun to chase him and shoot him as much as I possibly can whilst avoiding the obstacles in the canals. 11 - Crusher - Other then the one section where you need to balance the tentacles on the galleon, everything else about the fight was pretty epic and fun. 10 - Panda King - For being the same thing as the fight with him from the 1st game but does a fantastic job at utilising the dialogue tree as well as having a pretty huge impact on the characters in said boss fight as far as the story is concerned. 9 - Muggshot (MURRAY) - Pretty fun boss rush type of battle that uses the switch mechanic perfectly well which this game introduces for the hub worlds as well as keeping you on your toes as you deal with the many goons that comes your way. 8 - Muggshot (CARMALITA) - Was pretty satisfying to deal with Muggshot once and for all as Carmelita since her Gameplay is the best new one for the game. 7 - Dr. M (CARMALITA) - Same deal as 8 but switches things up with different phases and keeps you on your toes. 6 - Dr. M (SLY) - Best final boss fight of the series since it's the only one to utilise the core Gameplay, it's not the greatest unfortunately when it comes to the hit detection of the lasers outside the arena but it is a nice finale to the trilogy. 5 - The Mask Of Dark Earth Dingo - Just run around until Bentley or Murray stuns him to wack him, it is pretty repetitive but it is a pretty nice way to have the gang work as a team and right in the end of one of the better jobs of the series. 4 - Octavio (MURRAY) - A nice pattern base boss fight that makes perfect use out of Murray's core Gameplay since his is primarily about combat. 3 - Black Baron (SLY) - A nice and satisfying boss fight that makes you think on your toes and plan each attack carefully. 2 - Dragon - A really epic boss fight that's set all the way above the China hub world which is a pretty nice way to view the whole map as well as being part of a huge battle in said hub world. 1 - Tsao - Nice first phase that utilises Sly's ninja spire jump technique but even better then ever seen before or after as well as a second phase that nicely makes perfect use out of the combat aspect of Sly's core Gameplay.

18:12 Tsao was hard on ground, especially if you didn't you know how to out maneuver him, but really I use charge attacks, (Charge 2 and 3), and the cane push to take him down a peg, and air attack him after he did that, Zombie hands attack from underground, but when it got to the sky part, that was the most fun for me. 🤣 For me, Barron was easy to take down, i only died twice I think, and with M, but I would make M 1, and Tsao 2.
