Lyrics:
Lookin' at the devil, grinnin' at his gun
Fingers start shakin', I begin to run
Bullets start chasin', I begin to stop
We begin to wrestle, I was on the top
I want to thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Stiff all in the collar, fluffy in the face
Chit chat chatter tryin', stuffy in the place
Thank you for the party, but I could never stay
Many thangs is on my mind, words in the way
I want to thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Dance to the music, all nite long
Everyday people, sing a simple song
Mama's so happy, Mama start to cry
Papa still singin', you can make it if you try
I want to thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
(Different strokes for different folks, yeah)
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Flamin' eyes of people fear burnin' into you
Many men are missin' much hatin' what they do
Youth and truth are makin' love, dig it for a starter, now
Dyin' young is hard to take, sellin' out is harder
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
I want to thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
I want to thank you falettinme be mice elf agin

My husband was suddenly taken away from this party last Thursday to a better one, and it was a terrible hard passage for him and us. But I want to let him be free now from pain, fear and sadness and thank him for 44 wonderful year's of great love and friendship , and hold on to his huge love and care that still surrounds and watch's over me and his mom. Thank you God, for having him safe in your hands now and please help me become strong and worthy to be with you and him when it's the appointed time.

"Thank you for lettin' me be myself again" in case anyone is wondering😎. I saw them live at an outdoor gig in the 70's just after this was released. The promoter pulled the plug at 10am and the capacity crowd of 93,000 sang "Dance to the music" at the top of their voices for a good 20 minutes before they had to turn on the electricity and let them finish their set.... Awesome!!! Great times.

I forgot how much I LOVE this music!! Pure funk in its unadulterated form. So good ! Sly deserves so much more than he has gotten! The bass in this song is pure funk and pure genius. From 0:46 - 0:55, . . . That segment was popularized again in the late 80's by Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation."(Title cut) She brought even more funk out of it!! Love J.J. and her family Jackson as well as Sly & The Family Stone!!!💖🤎
