When you watch a Muay Thai fight in Thailand, you're not just watching a fight, you're experiencing a piece of Thai culture. The energy in a Thai stadium during a Muay Thai fight is electric, it's a feeling you can't describe, you have to be there to understand it.

Got to see the match live on TV but it's nothing like being there. The rituals, the smells and the music all add to the atmosphere. Thanks for bringing some of Thailand's culture to us, Ryan!!

This was fantastic. Many many... years ago when I met my wife . I was introduced to Maui Thai in her village. Not as a fighter, just a spectator. It's a great part of Thai culture. So this was very interesting. It also shows how much Thailand has modernized in many ways and yet still clings to It's history. Thanks for taking us along , and yeah take your son. What a epic adventure that would be for him and you to share together. Btw, didn't recognize you all dressed up lol...

My god how that arena has changed from 16 years ago when I went .One of the best nights I've had in Thailand hands down . Atmosphere,Build up to each fight ,Thai punters at the back gambling between themselves to roaring their favourite fighter on .To going back stage to meet some of the fighters afterwards .Like you said Ryan .it's a must do .Thanks. Happy new year to you and your lovely family mate ❤

The'ceiling' of the stadium is superb and the exterior, very nice. That's why I 'liked' the vlog for the benefit of your channel. As for Muay Thai, Boxing and any other similar sports, I hate them all. I used to watch big name Boxers like Cassius Clay, Joe Frazier & Joe Bugner in championship fights & a little bit of Wrestling because my father used to watch those guys. It was probably after my father gave me a whack around the back of the head, apparently because I said something a little bit cheeky to my mother. It caused me to hit my forehead on a door frame&I got a lump the size of an egg above my eye. Can't remember watching another Boxing or Wrestling match after that.

My favourite Muay Thai stadium, even before the post-Covid revamp. I always make my 3 monthly pilgrimage when I come to Thailand 😀. Can’t wait till Feb when I’ll get to see the new immersive dome (this wasn’t live when I was there in December). Great description of the stadium and what happens there 👍

Nice vlog. I thought the stadium was bigger. I watch the fights at Rajadamnern stadium every Saturday morning in the US. If you have a smart TV and can find Swerve Combat they play the fights. I know the Roku devices have it.

Wow. Looks like the atmosphere is electrically charged. Great looking building inside and outside. Yes a friend of mine has been here a couple of times. I wouldn't know the finer points of the game, but when I have seen it, it's very fast and they don't hold back, the pace and punching along with side kicks can be brutal. Excellent video. 👍❤️😇

The kohsarn rd area has changed beyond all recognition from the place I remember it, from one of the cheapest places to stay in the capital to one of the most expensive. I saw one guesthouse I remembered from 35 years ago on my first visit. Such a shame. I've never been to that stadium, it looks quite good. I remember going to see the band Europe at a big open air stadium called something like hallmark. It was a very different gig experience to what we expect as westerners. Good vid Ryan, shame your lovely Mrs wasn't in it to brighten things up with her smile.

A pretty stark difference from the local fight I went to in Buriram just before the New Year XD Stadium looks cool, but the crowd overall felt pretty quiet except for the "ooh" when someone got hit good.

I remember the first time I ever saw Muay Thai, was on my first trip to Bangkok 2007. I came out of the doors at MBK and it was "Wednesday fight night" nothing as flash as this vlog but my mind was blown away, the crowd the musicians and the way Thai's cheer. I saw one of the fighters the next day while out walking and his face was so swollen he looked like the elephant man.

Marvelous episode, the filming sequences and narration all excellent Ryan. Muay Thai is a great tradition and fierce sport. Just don't put Otis in a fight in his teens, wait till bones and musculature developed...wait i am not a doctor haha For those of us who have been around, Thai children can be on stage boxing in Muay Thai fights for tourists .. Peace Love and Happy New Year Y'all PS think your new cameras microphone is more treble and louder now, though you may be yelling as well 555

I like the stadium and the event presentation. Even though I admire their fitness and talent I personally do not like watching women or kids fighting. I must say the repetitive high pitch traditional music that is played gets a bit tiresome over the course of a couple of hours. Interesting video thanks Ryan.

This cannot be the biggest fight Thailand had ever seen. Maybe it's the biggest promotional fight ever, but jot the biggest. That said, the fight was fixed. Buakaws kicks and punches were not of the same caliber as previous fights. Anyone who is wants to review this fight a d his previous fights can make up their mind.

I like watching Muay Thai, but the constant Thai music blaring out does my head in and the rituals get boring and seem a bit overkill. If they want it to appeal to a wider audience like UFC or boxing, they need to streamline the show a bit. Traditions are important, but all of the fighters would benefit from more global interest, so I think it needs to be modernized... starting with turning off that damn music during the fight!

I’m perplexed that the announcements in the stadium are made in English! Why? The Thai audience can’t be happy about that. Shame on the stadium organisers I say. Are the stadium organisers saying to the audience that the Thai language isn’t good enough to be used or isn’t worthy of such a big occasion? It’s preposterous that a Thai sport is taking place in a Thai stadium and the local Thai supporters don’t understand a word said!! Also when in Thailand I expect to hear the Thai language!
@iainw1892 күн бұрын
Generally you don’t see many Thai at Rajadamnern - it’s 90% farang probably due to the cost. Different story if you go to Channel 7 stadium on a Sunday. Free entry and absolutely packed with locals.
