Smack Talking the Low Rider ST

In 2018 my wife and I were in Paris at the Louvre museum. Literally, the finest art, from the finest artists the world has ever known. I followed a group of people that stopped at every painting on the wall to criticize it. Painting after painting they reviewed, complaining about the color palette. complaining about the brush strokes. complaining about the technique. All I could think of was "with all this art, you can't find a thing you like?". Why stop and criticize what you hate. March through the building until you do find something you like and then spend time looking at it. IMO, there is no reason to even make a comment on social media about a bike they will never buy or think is ugly. Makes no sense. Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. Find the machine you like and love it. Let others find their machine and let them love it. Looking forward to your impressions of your new bike when you get it.

I’ve ridden my sort glide for 3 years mostly with my wife pillion, I’m hoping the ST will be an improvement for us, more travel in the rear shock will help and a firing that works without shaking my head ! I also think twin discs up front is there just in case I need them.

The right bags always been smaller for the exhaust on all models lol. The st is a direct result of customer input and what harley riders have been aspiring to create thru the aftermarket catalog since the fxrst and fxdxt.

If I were the engineers at Harley and had the final decision making I would have created the Lowrider ST as a more module type of bike where you could have a faring or no faring a choice of fairings plug-and-play with the fairings that might have some electronics where it is all removable by one person and a choice of bag options because everybody’s going to change the exhaust plus I wouldn’t have the exhaust come out each side, or at least that be an option at purchase

hahahaha !! The last guy perfectly summed up the harley riders around here. It's like they're stuck in high school. Strange how different areas breed different maturities. Some places people ride with anyone and everyone, some places you have to ride HD to be part of an old man cool club. I wish a name on a bike didn't matter.

I used to be a victory rider and swore off Harley’s forever. But once this bike came out, I said , “if I ever go to Harley it’ll be for the LRST” welp…. It happened, went to the other side. Never thought I’d leave victory. No regrets

Cost too much is my personal opinion but I could say that for most of the Harley lineup. 2-1 exhaust with matching size bags would have solved many of the complaints. However I can’t figure out why people are having issues with the fairing. One dealer here in the states literally was offering the same packages to do what Harley did and they had a waiting list. Guys are playing over $2k for 80’s FXT fairings and having to mod and paint them. These haters buy a low rider and build it your way.

Haters gonna hate. For me there is no other bike that looks as good as ANY Harley. The ST is sharp looking and the ONLY change I would make would be putting forward controls on it. People who don't like Harley's have so much pent up aggression towards them and the owners. I love all bikes and have owned Yamaha and Kawasaki and was proud and enjoyed them, but now I ride a Harley.

I really like the lowrider ST and I think this bike will be the pinnacle of the softtail cruiser era, but I do agree with alot of the common opinions, matching bags, a proper gauge cluster and some better colors (snake venom) would have been nice. If i was in the market for a new bike right now id be looking at the indian chief darkhorse. I do look forward to seeing what HD does with there new engine in the cruiser range over the coming years though still a while before I can look at another upgrade.

A lot of butt hurts out there! The bike certainly has its faults but doesn't any? It's one of the Harley's I'm most interested in at the moment, I quite like the fairing. Colours are sure limited, I'd want one in bright fuchsia if I was to have one (I'm serious). That'd really upset some people! haha

Meh, hair is long because I like it long. Does it make me cool? Not really. I get a lot of folks asking me about my sexual orientation. 😅 Tattoos are from having a hipster girlfriend for a decade and her thinking they were cool (rubbed off on me, she’s gone… ink stays. Not upset either of those things). HD: I’ve met cool Harley people and I’ve met my share of dudes who think they’re the baddest thing on two wheels, or magically transformed into a kind of road-touring pirate… This bike: not a fan of the saddle bags. The rims are alright(ish). I don’t have a problem with gray (although for the price, I would probably go with a Ducati X-Diavel). My current budget, I’m thinking Honda Shadow or Kawasaki Vulcan…

Harley-Davidson is a manufacture of a range of products and like all manufactures some of the products produced are good and others are total junk additionally making profits is the key primary focus to satisfy the shareholders and nothing else. And unless one is a shareholders of a company becoming passionate over any manufacture of products is a clear sign of cognitive impairment.

These are going to sell as fast as they arrive in dealerships. Everyone that is customizing low riders, or any softail for that matter are building to the same look and extras the ST has. The loudest voices in the room are often the most ignorant. I've been to at least 6 custom bike shows recently and despite what these haters are saying.... this is what's hot right now. Can't wait to see your thoughts when you finally get your hands on it.
