WWE 2K servers are already shutting down at the start of 2024 because 2K Games/Take Two who owns GTA can't afford to keep the servers up for more than 2 years, but somebody conveniently forgot to turn off the WWE 2007 servers which released for Xbox 360 17 years ago. What do you mean new WWE games suck now?! Microtransactions? Slow physics? Bugs? WWE Smackdown 2007 is still working in 2024!

I just teared up on my own video. At the end 😢I know that's cringe and all. But it makes me so sad realise an era like this will never happen again. I'm extremely happy that we got to experience this era though at the peak. Our childhood was perfect. Makes me SO sad that it's over even if you're a kid now its never the same anymore. Never forget what we had and don't let any kid in comments tell you its just 'nostalgia' it's all right here and it's real. I do not accept how things are now and never will. These were better times ❤ This game has powerful emotions. It straight up cured my depression at one point and had me pissing my pants when I tried out all the props and the pinball machine again. Nothing brought me comfort more than Smackdown 2007, this was when games and media were made by developers having fun. Not by shareholders, karens, AI And so was the internet and other pieces of media. Virtually everything you hear around you, every big KZbin video, every popular game This is not about 'nostalgia' or missing being a young kid. The point is I would never want to be one in this age. Being an adult is already hard, but kids will never know how good we actually used to have it and what life was like before it was all taken Sorry If I got a bit deep. Just wanted to say how I feel while I had the chance and can be heard Thank you all so much for reading it all and for the thousands of views!! I remember SvR06 having a chatroom. I was never able to connect but I seen old KZbin videos it was sick I connected a PS2 to the internet recently but it was shut down since 2014 because it said 'powered by GameSpy' 😔SvR07 is the oldest WWE game with online still working

They had the audacity to an elevator mode during the backstage fights in 2k24, something that should've been added in 2k22 or later - and the backstage map had hardly changed since 2k22. Literally paying $70+ for an annually patch update, then they shut down the servers after 2 years. Modern gaming is trash.

that's awesome to hear! I first got this with my PSP for Christmas in '08 along with SVR 06. I already had 06 on PS2 but having it on the go was revolutionary back then. I then got SVR 07 again when I got a 360 of my own in 2010, this was also my first 360 game haha First wrestling games I played were SYM and HCTP on PS2 in early 00's. I remember escaping the arena and fighting in the metro station. They don't make them like that anymore 😥

@@ross3695_basedhax unfortunately not 🥲 a lot of good times, my first wrestling game was Raw for the very first xbox then I got a ps2 for Christmas in ‘06 and on Christmas ‘07 I got svr2007… awesome memories, I remember being scared to death by the undertaker and mankind😂 took me a few months to select one of them, older games had everything! A variety of locations outside the arena, casket match, buried alive, special guest referee! It was AWESOME, too bad that era ended, a lot of superstars I grew up with either died or retired but I’m super happy for all the memories they gave me, unfortunately the PG era for me is just a bust that killed the sport

I used to love this game. Me and a buddy used to play WWE stars vs international stars (Caws) in choreographed "Work" matches. Fond memories. The reason the servers are still up is because its running through Xbox servers, not 2K's. PS was handled by 2K which is why servers didnt last. When they announced the shut down i was sad until i realized it didn't apply to 360

Best wrestling game ever, me and my mates who lived next door to me played this game every weekend for about a year straight and still play it to this day every so often. The soundtrack shaped the bands we listen to today. Unbelievable memories.

The fact that SvR 2007 still has active and stable online servers as of 2024, and it came out almost 20 years ago, just goes to show how crappy gaming has become over the years. I played WWE 12 earlier ago with a stranger online (shockingly, some people still play it on weekends) and the servers were not only active but they were stable on my end. It blew me away how stable it was, and that game came out when I was in high school (in 2011). Meanwhile, all of 2K's servers are unstabled, glitchy, laggy, and just a hot mess all around, and it gets worse each passing year (2k24's servers are HOT GARBAGE!!!!), then they (2K) have the audacity to shut down the servers after 2 years. Modern gaming is nothing but a damn gambling machine..pushes everyone to buy virtual currency (with your hard-earned money) to buy guns, characters, maps, ranks, and other BS just for it to be de-listed after a few years and with no way of retrieving it back. Again, this is me referring to 2k's MyFaction mode..then, of course, we have CoD, Halo Infinite, and virtually every gaming company today pushing this crap on everyone, and as a PS5/Series X player, I'm sick of it!!!! The 360/PS3 days were the golden years of gaming, and I'm afraid that we'll never get back to that level of greatness ever again. Sad, but true. Gamertag is Paradigm1994 if anyone is interested in playing these older, but amazing, WWE games.

My parents wanted to control every aspect of my life basically and didn't want me connecting with my friends. So I asked for the Peoples edition for Christmas because I knew it would have a download code and they would have to let on it I then proceeded to have the best time in my whole life

I played on Xbox 360. Only downside is you still gotta pay which I only like to do once in a while. game never got recompiled to backwards compatible program either. It has some activity recently though so if you got a 360 lying around and an active subscription I would definitely hop on

I cant believe its been 17 years. I stopped watching WWE in 2004 but this was the last WWE game i bought. its crazy to think even by then the WWF i loved was dead. Isnt it crazy to think back in 2005 -2007 i thought there was going to be another Attitude era resurgence and isnt it crazy that never came to be. Thats what they mean Lighting in a Bottle/ always appreciate things cause you'll never know how much you'll miss it until ITS GONE. But again even tho i didnt watch WWE in 2006 as much as i did in 99-2004 doesnt mean these times werent AWESOME. i freaking miss the early 2000s. i was entering High school we were transitioning from ps2 gamecube and xbox to the Wii 360 and ps3. i was a sony stan but switched to Xbox 360 as it was on top, Halo, gears, UFC, spike tv, myspace, early youtube, I WOULD GO OUTSIDE AND HANGOUT, ahhhhhhhh man. God i'd do anything to go back to these times. But you know what really cuts deep and hurts. its that no matter that the servers are still on THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. so many people that made my early life wonderful in the early 2000s including a few childhood friends, Grandparents, Aunt, uncle, My Dog, have all sadly passed away. they are never coming back and their lack of presence is felt. One kid i used to sit at my lunch table with back in 2007 and would talk about how much WWE sucked got MURDERED him and his sister in 2020 by some low life. Stuff like that is what im talking about. another kid i met in 1999 in the arcades and would talk about smackdown with Died. my grandparents who never understood this LOL but would sit with me and watch it are GONE. My dog who was with me as i unboxed my Christmas gifts and watched me play this and numerous of other games and would comfort me was i played is Gone. on top of that everyone is an Adult now and have children or just really Old. Im also not where i want to be financially as an adult and am a little bitter about how awful and cruel ADULT LIFE is. disease cancer accidents sigh. I miss my innocent life

I really hope they add netplay to this game via Xenia, because I don't think it works right now. I just tried it but I keep getting a message saying "only the currently active gamer profile can play on Xbox Live" I wanna do some crazy matchs with epic moments as Shane O Mac 😂I miss these older, more competitive wrestling games. The games nowadays are nowhere close. 2K14 online was the last great experience, and that got shut down years ago. What a shame. And as far as I know, the newer 2K games servers don't even work properly...

You can still do it with Parsec through the local multiplayer mode And I completely agree, broken competitive games are always the best you never know what will happen next I love the way games were developed back then. Nowadays everything is either an esport or designed as uncompetitive and boring as possible for no replay value. The 360 Wi-Fi firmware is a bit outdated now and doesn't support the most modern standards. You likely have 5GHz and WPA3 security which 7th gen systems don't support. This issue came up a lot in Wiimmfi tech support too If you have an ethernet cable to reach your Xbox I would try that

Short anwser, no. But parsec netplay + local multiplayer mode on Xenia is the solution. Long technical answer? If somebody chipped their Xbox and somehow bypassed the Xbox Live requirement it could work, that's what happened with CoD on Wii after Nintendo login servers shut down there was a patch to bypass it and connect straight to Activision servers which they forgot to shut down. Nobody would be playing though It is unlikely with SvR 2007 as the servers are most likely hosted by MS themselves so once 360 live shuts down that's it. But again it's possible with Xenia and netplay anyway

Yeah, I've never found anybody on ranked legit, I have ocassionally found somebody on player match though. The point of the video was to show the servers are still running. even if it's not very active, it's still better than being shutdown completely like 2k22 We got the achievement a few years ago during late night hours and we still managed to ran into somebody
