Small asteroid hits Earth: Detecting and predicting the point of impact • FRANCE 24 English

Last week, a small asteroid about a meter long was spotted heading towards earth just hours before it entered the atmosphere over the south-western Pacific, near the Philippines. It didn’t cause any damage on the ground but it does beg the question of how often this phenomenon happens and where we stand in terms of deflection technology.

The reason our predictions are incompetent is because our theory is wrong. If we could accurately predict it then the prediction would not change every 5 minutes.
