Reminds me of the chemistry sets for boys, both in the 1960's and 1860's Bring back THE BEAST! A lot of folks, myself included, wanted to try it :) A lot of us didn't even know it existed until YEARS LATER, at that! :P

I just bought this. Can't wait to get my hands on it! Actually I'm more excited to get to try individual components to help develop my palate a bit. But getting to play with blending will be a real treat. Thanks Jeremy and C&D!

I'm a little late to the pipe smoking game but I sure would like to get my very own mad scientist tobacco kit. Looks like a lot of fun and this would certainly bring the hobby to the next level. That said, I definitely need to get better educated on blends and the uniqueness of each type of tobaccos that are used.

Do the toppings actually get mixed in when using a dropper? Seems like it would be mostly concentrated on whatever pieces it initially lands on. Seems like it would be better to use a mister or something. Anyone have any experience using a mist/spray vs a dropper?

Nice! I'd like to try making some flake someday, but I guess you have to start here and then press it? Your factory has at least 3 presses; is it possible to make small batch flakes using some C clamps and wooden frames?

I'm a bit skeptical. How is this so cheap on smokingpipes.com? I thought perique was crazy expensive
@cornelldiehlinc92138 жыл бұрын
Depending on what Perique you're using, it can be. Straight St James Perique can be quite expensive, and also very inconsistent. Arcadian Perique is the more commonly used, is cheaper, more consistent year to year, and is still processed in St James Parish using the traditional techniques. Check Smokingpipes.com's interview with Mark Ryan here: www.smokingpipes.com/smokingpipesblog/single.cfm/post/custodian-tradition-mark-ryan

A beard mask... because every pipe smoker has a beard... *hides beard* also this method of adding flavoring seems like it'd be very uneven, seems like it'd be better to include a small spray bottle to dilute it with water and spray it on.
