Small Boat fishing UK - I Don't Think Ive Ever Caught So Many Dog Fish!

Weather looked incredible for the bank holiday weekend so I planned to head off a few miles off the needles, trying to mackerel on the way. I ended up getting 3 miles off the needles but it was dogfish city, even double hooking on the same rig so it was time to move. I came back round the other side of the needles in alum bay, dropped the anchor for some lunch and you guessed it.... more dog fish. I had some lunch there as it was lovely and calm and ended up going round to totland to only catch more dog fish and very small eels. I forgot to mention at the beginning when I was using feathers for mackerel I caught that small bass which was the best fish of the session.... it just goes to show that you can't help what you catch even if the weather is on your side... I feel like I fished hard for a decent fish but just never happened. there's always next time.

Wow, what an adventure! Despite the challenges with dogfish, it sounds like you made the most out of a beautiful day on the water. The calm weather must have made for a serene atmosphere, perfect for enjoying lunch and taking in the surroundings. Even though the big catch eluded you this time, catching that small bass on feathers was definitely a highlight. It goes to show that fishing always holds surprises, regardless of the conditions. I've just subscribed to your channel and eagerly await more of your videos.

Yeah exactly that, soon as the nice weather comes we get all excited but sometimes the fish do not play ball. Going out again today to the needles… and I’ve heard there’s been some mackerel caught 👀😍 thanks for your comment 😊

Lovely day, nice to see the Needles! Helicopter is coastguard, if you look at it's underneath it says SAR (search and rescue). Nice video.

I assume that was Saturday, it was quite rough in the afternoon over in Mudeford, it was a SW wind blowing straight in. Over by the island, you were sheltered

It was unreal out there. Like you said shame about the fishing. Back out today to try for some mackerel, I’ve heard a few are about around my area now 👀😃
