You can do this by just taping it to regular printer paper, too. I watch a lot of crafting videos, and there are a few of them that do it, quite often. Here are the names of the two channels, I know of. "DIY at the Schwowins Nest" and "Our Upcycled Life." I think they both use just regular printer paper. That may be why your edges were messed up, because you used a thicker paper. I don't know, but I am going to try it both ways. Anyway, just make sure it doesn't get wet, or it will bleed, but you can spray it with hairspray to help with that, maybe. One last thing, on tissue paper, there is, sometimes, a shiny side and dull side, print on the dull side. I believe, the Dollar Tree tissue paper does have a shiny and dull side. Anyway, I just thought I would share these tips. 😊 Thank you, for sharing this video.

GREAT TUTORIAL ... you can also iron FREEZER PAPER onto the back of the tissue paper, that way taping is not necessary (you just PEEL OFF the tissue paper once the printing is complete ... this method also works for personalizing fabric) 🙂

You could also take the tissue paper to a local printing company (not staples) someone that has a large format printer. They might be able to print n the paper and you won't have to cut it.

I have never tried this, but think a couple of points need to be made. Tissue paper comes in a type that has one side that has a fine wax-type layer. You can tell you're using this because one side is shiny. This tissue paper is more stable than the higher quality tissue paper that is matt on both sides. I know you said use Dollar Tree (we don't have this store in the UK and the "pound shop" type shops don't tend to have such a big selection of goodies 😭) I mention this because some people might have to get their tissue paper online. I have just checked some customised tissue paper I have in a purchase I just made and the print is on the shiny "waxy" side. It is possible that using the more porous matt side of tissue paper you might get a bleed. You didn't mention the type of printer you have, but (green with envy lol) you obviously have a top-notch laser printer. This will make a difference with outcome. The lower quality tissue paper also does not have a good white base colour, so the print might not come up as well. There is a lot of work involved in this technique. You have to calculate the cost of all the materials, including the printer. The time taken needs to be calculated in terms of your wages when pricing your goods. You might find that it works out more expensive when wage is taken into account. A small one-off job might suit this technique. For the cutting of fine paper, like tissue, I would recommend a guillotine be used. The tissue paper is not always ironed or pressed perfectly flat. The slightest kink will cause bunching, like you experienced. Sorry to be so negative. It is a good idea, I hope my input will be helpful. Be blessed, K

This is actually really helpful. I’m looking to make my own decoupage tissue paper as I can’t find anything I like. However, the paper once printed on, is then painted with mod-podge. I’m thinking that the glue may smudge the printed paper.
