Hey Bailey! Another fab video! I also laminate my price signs and I’ve just started to round the corners, once I’ve cut them out, as they can be sharp and I’m clumsy so thought I’d share that idea with you, though I doubt you’re as clumsy as I am. 😹. Also, very much looking forward to seeing your patchwork! I’m a quilter and I love patchwork so much. It’s such a relaxing thing to do. If you need any tips, I’d be happy to help. 😸 Katt x

Hey Katt! Thank you so much! I took your advice and tried rounding the corners but I think my hole punch isn't strong enough lol it just like barely cut it and made it so I had to go in with scissors too lol. Next week after Markets for Makers I'm going to be getting back into sewing more! I'll be excited to share and I'm sure I'll have questions lol

I'm currently still watching so don't know if you end up thinking it but I'm pretty sure that you could have made the bag you made on your embroidery machine a lot quicker on your sewing machine as the time is mostly in the cutting out which you have to do anyway. I think that making in the hoop projects are great for those that only have embroidery machines but if you have a sewing machine then it's going to be quicker! Especially if you have say 5 bags cut at a time, sew all the zips for all 5 then do all of the same parts of the bags at a time...as a project bag maker I went from being able to to make 3/4 large bags (with pockets) in a day to 10 by batch sewing!

I definitely think it would be quicker on the sewing machine but it's fun to let the embroidery machine do it lol and I don't have to worry about clips or placements I can literally just tape the fabric on there and I like the freedom of that. I've got other bag patterns that I like to make on the sewing machine but just wanted to try out some of the in the hoop ones!

I’m currently watching the video and wanted to comment on things as I’m watching.. So the 3mil setting is probably the right one, the 5mil is usually for a much thicker laminating sheet.. you can put them thru a few times to make sure they are really sealed.. I have had a $25 laminator and it worked fine and now I have a $150 laminator that I love because once I started laminating things I saw how much I used mine LOL.. It has a lot of bells and whistles and it better for $150 LOL…😂 You mentioned you might attach the signs for your shirts to your wood stand with putty.. I wanted to suggest what I have been doing that works great… I’m using sticky Velcro that I bought in a long strip and then I just cut off the sizes I need and stick it on that way. Then I can take them off when I’m traveling and put them them up when I get things together. Velcro that is strong like Lowe’s or Home Depot type of Velcro works great!

I ordered 3mil sleeves so there's no more confusion there lol! I really love laminating stuff too lol I've got these workbooks for the boys that I've been just copying the pages and them laminating them so we can do the worksheets with dry erase markets so we can reuse the pages, I'm obsessed! By your suggestion I did pick up some velcro circles that I'm gonna try out! The tacky putty worked good but I should probably have a stronger bond!

I laminate my signs too but just to let you know, blue tack doesn’t stick to plain wood. My signs kept falling off my crates.

The tack worked pretty well this weekend but I went ahead and bought some velcro dots :)

I think it’s a good idea to have the belt for the bag as a separate purchase. That way you can choose your size. They are so cute, I hope you are going to put them on your website.

This is what I do. Even my sling bags I’ve made some changes to the patterns so that they can be size inclusive.

I’ve just made this in fabric and faux leather I did the 8x12 hoop size and it turned out great I’ve got 3 more to prep and stitch

Thanks for another great video! Love the sling bag pattern from POP! I only have an 8x8 so kind of bummed I can’t make this design. Hubby’s not going for “I need an upgrade” so I’m trying to save up for a bigger Embroidery machine. -Cristi

I like that you are utilizing your embroidery machine. The embroidery on the t-shirts are really cute. I wanted to ask you about a video that was on my feed last week about embossed embroidery. Someone is claiming to have a patent on embossed embroidery and it seems really sketchy because isn't this just a technique of embroidery. This person is supposedly going after other people on KZbin who use this technique, saying they have to take down any content. How can a sewing technique have a patent? This is really strange. And this person is asking others (seems like just small business owners) to pay her money in order to use embossed embroidery. How can someone get a patent for a sewing technique? It's everywhere.

I think that now I have a better idea on stabilizing the shirts I've been brave enough to get into using it for shirts and not just sweatshirts so that's definitely been a game changer and allowed me to get more into embroidering! I did some research on it and I think that's absolute nonsense that someone is trying to say they have a patent on it. I saw somewhere that according to some statute that sewing techniques and processes do not fall under copyright and can't be patented but people can always try to do something to be sneaky. It's a nasty way to be!

I normally order shirts from Jiffy shirts, I think it's only $59 to get free shipping.
@googoogoods5 ай бұрын
I'll definitely look into Jiffy Shirts for smaller orders, they're about $1 more per shirt for Comfort Colors than S&S so that's not bad at all!
@sewrockinthestyle5 ай бұрын
@@googoogoods Yes ma'am and there shipping is usually fast. I have also used Clothing Shop Online they are a tad cheaper but jiffy is faster. I placed an order on Monday and it was delivered today.

I just learned that this technique is called Trapunto. I just watched another video (sewing report live) and she talks about is. I really think that this is bull.... I think this person is trying to get money from small businesses for using a technique that I understand has been around for many years. I don't think this is enforceable. I think the patent office has been mislead and don't know much about embroidery.
@googoogoods5 ай бұрын
Trapunto is really beautiful, I definitely think it is bull and if they somehow did grant a patent then it will be overturned in court by some lawsuit!
