As you know, Erik, I'm a plumber- I've stood out in the middle of many concrete pours, but that hardly makes me an expert. I know that must shock you, seeing as how there are so many experts commenting on You Tube, but, alas, it's the truth! I know how the math works to compute the volume of the concrete, I damn sure know how to multiply man hours and crew hours and all like that- but I have to admire how you always have that extra dollar to assure the highest quality- not sometimes but every time. Love that attitude- I'm thinking the guys that work the 'crete for you like it too, 'cause I'm sure it makes it easier for them to turn out a top job. You don't let your clock jitters leak out on the crew either- you make a plan and work the plan, usually with a bit of slack for the bozo that gets his fool concrete truck lost on the way! Up to your spec- awesome!

You gotta tear the bags open, otherwise you end up with a plastic bag twisted up somewhere in your mix. I learned the hard way when a corner of cement fell out of the driveway when I removed the forms, what do you think was the culprit? A twisted up plastic bag with a handful of dry fibers right there sticking out of the corner where the piece separated from. Stupid mistake I’ll never do again.
@newholland684 жыл бұрын
I drive a mixer, the bags of fiber we use dissolve very quickly when they get wet. You can spray them with water and they will fall apart in your hands

Being a Concrete Contractor is an interesting job.... You are working with another companies product that you really have no control over how it is made, or when it will be delivered, but you are responsible for how it hardens and the finish. PLUS I have to agree that pour concrete in Texas heat can be a little trying.

Used day 1 for first time yesterday. We always jitter bug. We didn’t since we had the day one. The float closed it up really nicely, but I didn’t like that it didn’t finish like I normally have with the bug. Do you find that the mag vibe pushing the rocks now as well as the bug? I’m trying to stop bugging. But I want the rocks down. I didn’t feel like day 1 did that for me.

Wearing tennis shoes or boots, your feet are technically "shod". You are both correct by my arbitration! No winner or loser in that argument, though I might comment on why the topic arose, but that would be judgemental! All that aside, thank you once again for demonstrating how to do actual stuff, and thumb is, as always, up. EDIT: You would not want to be in the field of the pour wearing only tennis shoes, so I may have to reevaluate my opinion.
