Nice review and honest comments. I too share your view of the quality of the Sarblue and it's price value. I have been trying out various things with my Sarblue 60 and found that after I mounted a laser finder and changed the mount, my viewing pleasure increased 10 fold. I'm in the process of modifying my set up further for working with video. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make your informative video.

Great info here. I happen to also have the NT114. Definitely nice to see the comparison between the two. It would be great if you could do a comparison with Saturn and Jupiter. On the NT114 I can just barely make out the rings of Saturn if the winds not blowing too hard.

Nice review! Are you able to see ring separation when viewing Saturn with this little scope?
@mbioman
@mbioman 6 ай бұрын
Thank you. Visually, the rings of Saturn are visibly separated from the planet. This separation was easier to see in past years when Saturn’s rings were tilted from our Earth perspective. The Cassini division can be identified when seeing is good and is easier to identify using a camera attached to the scope.

A 2x Barlow could be used to increase the focal length, decreasing the field of view, effectively magnifying the image.

Hi, someone asked me a question that I cannot answer. What is the limiting magnitude of this scope? Could you please tell me the answer so I can relay it to him? Thank you! 😊
@mbioman
@mbioman Жыл бұрын
The limiting magnitude is somewhere between 10.7 and 11.6. It's generally a function of the telescope's aperture. In this case that is 60mm.

@ravenshadowz2343: The maximum USEABLE magnification of ANY telescope is equal to twice the aperture in mm. This has an aperture of 60mm so the maximum magnification you can use is about 120X. You can magnify more if you use a more powerful eyepiece but it will just be blurred.

Basic question, how are you supposed to use the finder? Do you really have to get under it and look through even though the viewing angle is nice and easy looking down through the 90 degree eye piece? Seems hard to place the scope comfortably.
@mbioman
@mbioman 5 ай бұрын
Yes. The finder scope is a straight view. This is pretty typical on astronomical telescopes. There are angled finders if the original is too cumbersome.

Hello! Thank You for the great review! ☺️ May I ask does it show more than a 15x70 binocular (I have only that)? I am not so much interested in planets. But Moon, open clusters, nebulaes, galaxies (I have an idea that definitely just some is seeable with this, and also that they look probably very faint), or comets? So basically, in these territories could it give reasonably more as my 15x70 binocular? ☺️
@mbioman
@mbioman 3 жыл бұрын
The field of view will be smaller (larger magnification) with the Mak60 and brightness may be a little better for a specific target as a result. For visual use for nebulae and galaxies, a larger aperture, 200+mm, is probably needed. Dark skies will also help.

Nice review, congratulations. I just purchased this scope and already impressed with its clarity. I have 2 questions if I may. 1./ can I somehow attach a finderscope (like Celestron 51630 Star Pointer) to it? and 2./ what kind of bigger tripod you may suggest?
@mbioman
@mbioman 3 жыл бұрын
They now sell it with a larger tripod and finder scope. amzn.to/2S5WFEU. There is also just the finder scope. I bought this a few weeks ago. amzn.to/3pnYmtt. It has worked very well. I use this camera tripod amzn.to/3fS6HSS. Other similar tripods should work. I've also used a tripod that came with a newtonian telescope.

@@mbioman I understand that the phone adapter fits only their own eyepiece. Thus, can I buy somewhere other that 20 mm eyepiece for this scope or just use a barlow with the existing 20 mm eyepiece if I want to take a photo?

@@istvanarany2476 my 1.25" eyepieces fit into the angled adapter. A standard phone adapter would then work just fine: amzn.to/3v1Ws2A.

Is it possible to connect a dslr camera to it and take photos ?
@mbioman
@mbioman 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. You'll need an appropriate adapter. The camera is probably gonna weigh more than this small telescope so you may want to mount the camera and treat the telescope like a lens. Also, the field of view will be quite narrow. I've attached a somewhat smaller mirrorless camera without issue.

Thank you for the awesome review, I picked one up as my first telescope. I'm also in southern California, I'm still waiting for Orion nebula to show up later, been waiting since last month. What ISO/exposure time did you use with your cellphone? Default camera app? No stacking? 😊

For the night images, I use Gcam in astrophotography mode (Google's camera app). The iphone camera has a similar functionality. The app takes several photos at a specified exposure and then automatically stacks them into one image. It works quite nicely and is very easy to use. I believe I used 30s exposures?
