Hello there is next to nothing other than comfort measures. And extensive stage small cell lung cancer like my late mother therapy wouldn't have done anything it went to her lymph nodes than her spine

Laura, may I ask what type of cancer you had? I have limited stage sclc, which has now been in remission for over 6 months following chemo and radiation. My Oncologist would not give me a diagnosis of cured until I have been in remission for 5 years, which is the typical.

@@healthfitnessbysuman6602 I just saw my pulmonologist last week. He told me that I was very fortunate because everyone he's ever seen that had small cell lung carcinoma was now dead. He's the one who did my biopsy and found it was small cell.

I lost my wife of 36 years to this cancer, she was only 59 years old. It responds well at first to treatments, when it comes back it's fatal

I'm very sorry to hear about your wife. I know someone who is going through this now, and is stage 4 on chemo and kertuda every 3 weeks for 2 years. She is 1.5 yr into treatment. I know everyone is different and responds differently. Did your wife have treatment for 2 years? How long before the cancer came back?

@@lisak9308 My wife was diagnosed September of 2020 and passed March of 2022. I say it came back after 4 or 5 months in different places. After her scan, it was in her pancreas very close to her stomach. It then went into her brain very quickly. It really depends on blood counts if you can continue to have chemo to knock it back down, in my wife's case they were to low. As she was waiting to get the blood counts up the clock is ticking. Her last day the cancer had spread into blood vessels and into her stomach. Her end lasted 7 hours with stomach pain but the doctors gave her morphine. She passed peacefully that I was thankful for.

my mom. had been dx three months ago she is done w four cycles of chemoof cisplatin etopiside and keutruda we are praying for a miracle the docs say no more chemo just maintain ance care of keytruda/pembro alone mom is 66 sleeping many hours of the day we are praying for a miracle cause medicine is only giving extra life but not much energy ...
