Currently no regrets getting this exact model. The gas savings would probably be spent towards future (hopefully far) repairs on the hybrid system but hey if this reaches 10 yrs without a major hiccup, I’ll take it! Fuel economy is superb. I average 22-28.9km/L on mix driving. On worst traffics I get 14-16km/L. Comfort is also great. I just wish the front pax seat could be adjusted a little bit higher but i guess that can be fixed with some additional cushioning. Performance is okay. I can overtake without the feel of lacking power and speed. Uphill with full pax would probably be not ideal but I believe it can definitely handle it. Overall a happy and no-regret decision! If you’re in the market for a: - crossover - major car brand - 1.2 to 1.5mil budget Then I highly suggest this. Cheers!

@KenshinHimura2323 күн бұрын
This is the most sensible Japanese brand hybrid car to buy in the Philippines but the BYD Sealion 6 is the most sensible hybrid/HEV car to buy out of any brand. The Corolla Cross Hybrid is well behind in tech compared to BYD Sealion 6. However, if you're living in the Province and still want to own a hybrid car, go for Toyota Corolla Cross because of more Toyota dealership available outside of the metro which is very important in ensuring that you will get proper car maintenance.

BYD's hybrid system also uses Toyota's system, and the company just claims a larger fuel tank and a cruising range of over 2,000 km. The batteries developed by BYD are great, but I think that once Toyota starts mass producing all-solid-state batteries, the advantage of electric cars will disappear.

I really like the look and the V variant makes a lot of sense. pero after talking to an agent, it will cost me over 1.8M (includes LTO and comprehensive insurance) and no cash discount. However, the GRS variant has a discount and is exactly 1.9M (again with LTO and insurance), so its a big decision which one to get, with a 100k difference. And Im already over my budget so this is a stretch. Any agent here (Cebu area) can offer me better, let me know. I will pull the trigger this month. If not, Ill probably go with another car within my budget.

It's in the same price range as the newly released BYD sealion 6. The only advantage this has over the Sealion 6 is Toyota's famed reliability. However, if these japanese carmakers don't step up their game, the chinese carmakers might end up overtaking them.

Different tech also - this is a hybrid, while the Sealion runs an EV with range extender. Both cool tech, but Toyota has done it for longer, with BYD taking their chances with newer tech. Either way, the fact we have choice means the consumer wins.
