Marcus. A video you released about a year ago changed the trajectory of my KZbin journey and as a result, my life. I can’t find the video now, but you challenged us to look at our analytics and find a video that had over 500 impressions in the last 7 days, but still had a low CTR. I noticed a video I had released about a year and a half earlier was getting ~1500 impressions but had a CTR of around 3%. In the most insane moment of clarity I ran to my laptop and changed the title and thumbnail to make it a little more eye-catching. In November of 2023 this video had about 3500 views and my channel had a little over 900 subscribers. In November 2024, that same video has now been viewed 270,000 times and my channel surpassed 3,200 subscribers this month, and now I get paid to make videos online. I’ll never forget watching your video that day. Thank you for everything.

Awesome video bro. I am small KZbinr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Famester, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

You can hit all the right points, but if the topic is not highly searched or does not have interest it won’t get views or be pushed. I noticed this recently. My last video hit every point, high retention, view duration, and click through rate but the views are lower compared to my others that have a lot lower retention ect, but it’s because of the topic. Upon searching, the topic isn’t as searched, and the views are lower. In comparison to my other videos that has higher views and low retention ect, they have more people searching and the recommendations are better because it’s topics people are more interested in. So I come to learn, topic matters. If you make a video on a topic that is known to get views or has high interest, if you hit all the right points, you’ll be recommended. If you do the same but get a lower view duration, you may not get recommended as much, but the views still will be better than just winging it. I learned this recently lmao 😂. You can hit everything right but if the topic is not so good. It’ll just burn out. Where as you could have a video that’s the opposite, but still get more views just because people are more interested. So the first thing before anything, research the topic or idea. 😅
