I’ve been using the affordable craft mats for quite a while now and I’m very happy with them. When they’ve become very distorted as I’ve used both sides, it’s not so painful to toss and use a fresh one.

Dollar Tree craft videos are fascinating. I swear some people's Dollar Trees must be like Nordstrom with the stuff they find, others you walk in and it disaster. 😂

I really like that foil paper. Will have to check my local Dollar Tree. Their craft section is not great, but sometimes they get the good stuff.

Since I have been using the $Tree mats for Anna's dies well over a year, I haven't needed any extra pressure. The mats warp much quicker than her magnetic mats when just using her dies. I was thinking of trying my heat gun on them (not wanting to use water or plastic like you...just our expensive electricity possibly)

What about putting the mat between the die and the top cutting plate? Would that help prevent marring on the foil?

Absolutely! I think that would definitely help. However, I always say to use the thinnest sandwich needed to get the job done. And I don’t think it needs a rubber mat at all, so I probably wouldn’t use it anyway. Generally, when I cut, I don’t get those marred lines, so I think it was just a thick sandwich. I usually just use the self-healing mat that’s it. And everything is great!
