So if your groups are grouped by ability, the students are rotating in other centers by ability too? They stay with that same group even though they are all low?

Hi Dora...when I do my small groups, I do mixed ability groups for the students who are rotating in centers..this way students who are low will have someone in the group they can ask for help when needed...but if you wanted to have differentiation in your center activities, then you might want to group them with similar abilities...for example your low group center could be doing 1-digit addition and subtraction activities, the medium group 2- digit addition and subtraction, while the high group is doing 3- digits
