Small Group Time for Preschool, Pre-K, or Kindergarten

You're lucky to have such a small class! I have one assistant who might help but one child needs constant attention. I am trying to figure out how to do small groups with this child. I have been given a floater but she is not trained to handle his behaviors.

I do it as part of my schedule with the whole group at 2 tables, 8 at each table. I find it hard to get kids to leave free choice play to come to the small group table.
