I think there's some charm to this property if you can see past the mess. You mentioned that everything is staying with the property other than personal items - is that something that happens often in Portugal? Could you request that everything is cleared out prior to settlement?

such odd plot layouts in Portugal !! its got a great feel but the weird carve up of the lot and the proximity of other peoples houses puts me right off . too much risk of neighbour disputes!!

A little TLC will bring that property back to life. The ownership and what you can do with the property can be a little tricky . Oh gosh bless you Ken! This is a difficult one for sure, esp with no agent, and a weird landscape, and no permanent home license. Would be perfect for a local neighbor. Thank you for sharing, I adore these shares, I'm always looking and wishing to retire here! From Canada originally, but moved to USA, and was forced to change citizenship to be an American. Another nice tour with a style that gives a good sense of a property for sale. But what on earth are owners thinking when creating unusual property boundaries even if some of it is historical. If the far end came back to the road creating more of a square then it would be a sweet plot of land, bigger so more expensive yes but much more saleable.

Oh goodness, if it was renovated it would be lovely but it needs such a lot of work, basically looks like it all became too much for him and I don't like the idea that you get the place and have to clear out all the mess yourself but I have seen this a lot on properties abroad where the furniture stays with the property. Just a little too rustic and an odd shape land.
