I was the same way when i started collecting. I preferred stainless blades, but the more Ive collected and the older I got, i prefer carbon steel much better now!!

Great video. Appreciate the tips for fabing a shield. I have a bear n son mini trapper that lost its shield. I emailed their customer service and sent some pics. A few bucks and they mailed out a new shield. I was thinking about using a .22cal cartridge casing if they couldn’t help me. Cool video with very useful tips.. Thanks 👍

@@KernArms I did that on a Bear and Son Damascus-steel Trapper that I gave my Dad for Christmas a few years ago, except it was either a .25 cal or a .380. I cannot recall which, but those are the only sizes of pistol ammo that I keep. I like the look!

Is a case shield easy to replace? And does it have to match the yr? It was made? Love ur videos! Wish I was as good as you! Happy new year! Bring on the videos! Oh where would I get a spare shield? Sorry so many questions!
@southernknifehobbyist19 күн бұрын
@@GregWilmoth First, I would check with Case to see if they would replace the shield under warranty caseknives.com/pages/warranty-repair If they will not, then you just have to get one off of a parts knife, or purchase one off of eBay.
@southernknifehobbyist19 күн бұрын
@@GregWilmoth Or make one, like I did on my Case! That was much easier than shaping one out of metal.

@@thomastommy1192 Moore Maker is a Western supply store in Matadore, Texas. My store should be listed in the video description, but just in case: www.allaboutpocketknives.com/reverand I still need to update it, so check it out every week or two!

Great video brother! Please allow me to make a suggestion if that’s ok with you? I have to very old CaseXX knives. Both of them have a missing chip of bone. One is a Red Bone and the other is a Green Bone. What would you do with these knives. Leave them with the chip missing or fix the missing chip somehow? Maybe, you might want to make a video on it? Thanks brother!

Moore maker was made by Bear & Son ever since their November sale the market has been flooded with them.
@southernknifehobbyist19 күн бұрын
@@78Fish-Hawk Yes, they are one of the manufacturer's that Moore Maker uses. They used to use Queen, and I believe that they still use Case for some knives.
