Great sled . Underrated and over looked by the 850 riders . She'll do 97 mph . Fast enough. The low and mid range is awesome. Tons of fun to ride and great on gas and oil. Never blow a belt not like the 850's. Lite and nimble on the trails to .

Wow looking on map your way up there by Canada! I worked on hotels for many years all up and down east coast Maine pa mass vt (Brattleboro) nh and so on now living in Alaska people here won’t ride in those conditions has to be a good snowfall 8” or more and here there called snow machines!

We had ten glorious deep snow days in late Jan. in Southern WI… then it all melted and zero since. I feel your pain!

Last weekend I just picked up a 2012 Ski-Doo Summit X 800R on trade, needs a few things done but it starts on 1st pull every time. My 1st sled so im pretty stoked.

Thanks for the video.I have never ridden a Gen 4 ski doo. I owned a 17 xs tnt. Good little sled great on fuel. Not a power house but good enough for trail riding. I want to try out that 858 Cat . You should si a video if you fi test ride one.

I’ve had a few XS chassis and the G4 just feels better once you put some miles on it. And If I get to test a 858 out I’ll make a video.

How would you compare the g4 mxz to your renegade 900 ace? Im currently on a xs chassis enduro with the 900. Been trying to sell it. Thinking of going with a 600r next. By the way you stole that sled for 4500 bucks. Ive been watching marketplace for some time and the cheapest i have been seeing them go for is around 6k.

It feels different than the XS for sure, but in a good way. I didn’t care for the seat when I first sit on it, it’s small and soft but you get use to it. They handle and ride a little better than the xs. It all depends on what you like though, the G4 is an even more rider forward sled than the XS. And Yeah I was looking closely at the ads and I finally see that one pop up so I had to go get it. Plus it was only 20 minutes from me.

Awesome video, but I've absolutely gotta know- what kind of camera and mic setup are you running? I've never heard such a clear in-helmet mic, I'm blown away.

I’m running a Go Pro hero 9 for my camera. I’ve tried there mic adapter before and the sound is amazing however it didn’t last long at all.. I’ve tried a couple of them and had the same issues they don’t like the cold. So now I’m running a separate mic with a tascam DR-05 recorder.

What do you think of the ski doo compared to the Polaris maytrx sleds you gave rode? Trying to decide if I want to go xrs or xcr/assault

It all comes down to preference.. My recommendation is give both a test ride if your local dealers allow that. They are both great sleds, if you’re talking about the ski-doo xrs backcountry and the Polaris assault.. I tend to lean towards the assault but again that’s just personally preference.

I trail ride in the same area as you. When I check them out at the dealer I do prefer the ergos of the Polaris. But I do prefer brp on the dirt side of things with atvs and such. I have a can am outlander 850 xt and had Polaris and Honda before that and the brp is def the best in my opinion the build quality and rotax motor are great. My gut tells me once I own them both I will have that same feeling about the ski doo especially as time goes on over the Polaris. But just checking them out and sitting on them the ergos of the Polaris are nicer and they look sharp. I’d likely go mxz xrs or xcr. Maybe assault. Wish we had snow to test them! @@rockspowersports

Oh you’re looking at the mxz xrs and the Indy xcr! That’s a very hard decision.. The Polaris chassis responds much better to rider input, however ski-doo’s ski’s are locked on the trail and I can take corners way faster and more confident than the Polaris. I haven’t put big miles on the Polaris chassis so I’m not sure how they hold up over time. I’ve seen a lot of high mileage Ski-doo’s and they are usually still in great shape.

I also like the higher seating position of the Polaris. It seems like your sitting down in the ski doo rather then on top of the sled like the Polaris. The Polaris feel more like an atv or dirt bike.
