I like the tip for cases where a stud is in the way of the clamps. However this will only work if the speakers have a design like these Klipsch.

isolation? The back of the three fronts are going into an attic, the two surrounds nothing behind them, maybe only for the rear surrounds but not really necessary, I had in-ceiling speakers in my last house and above that was a bedroom, not much sound was heard in there unless it was complete silence and the system was cranked loud.

@@betitos11 isolation / i mean not the isolation to second room, rest of the house. I mean isolation that is required for speakers (like open or close build, dimensions of bass reflex etc. but you have to calculate all dimensions) and if you mount in wall like that alllll that nessesery calculatios are useless. So my point is / crapy sound but nice looking in walls / or normal speakers and good sound. My choice is obvious ;)

I have similar Klipsch in walls... they have a 90x90 horn so they can be mounted either way. Its 100% customer preference. My klipsch center is also mounted vertically

Banana plugs only serve as a quick plug-unplug solution. Permanent installs don't need those.

15:46 you can just drill a hole in stud. Electricians and plumbers run holes through a series of studs when running wire or pipe. Especially with the particular hole being next to a door frame wheres theres multiple studs stacked. Good job on the project!

@@JamesCampbellMr Depends on the wall and speaker. Mostly making sure the volume and dimensions behind the speaker are as good as possible as if it would've been a regular boxed speaker, but also making sure the volume behind the elements are as well damped as they need to.

I have some old klipsch from the late 90s and they still sound awesome except my right channel tower speaker has a slight rattle from the woofer

Do you know if the rattle is from the woofer, or the woofer frame? Sometimes just tightening the woofer frame back onto the cabinet will fix this. If it's an older speaker Sometimes the screws back out a smidge, and that's all it takes.

@@nicholasmapes Hey wow 2 year old comment I fixed the one that was rattling The glue holding the spider to the speaker basket failed so I lathered 2 party epoxy to re attach the spider and wow no more rattle I took woofer out of cabinet of course but it’s fixed Thx for replying though

we drill into center studs with 1/2 inch lag bolts. 2 lags minimum but we usually use 4

nice video guys, i think you should have aligned the 3 front speakers just a bit under the screen, so later they could be able to upgrade to a projector screen...For the left surround speaker why don't you put the screws into the stud so the red hook can grab it ?

I will never understand how there is no box on these in wall/in ceiling speakers. Isn't the wall cavity going to reverb sound? I have seen houses with in walls that you can hear in other rooms through a chase or other opening. AM I WRONG?

53patsfan yes, but the sound is negligible compared to a box system but it’s a sacrifice you make for a clean finish. Also when that sub is booming your your gonna hear it and feel it anyway.

Thanks for explaining everything in simple terms. I just installed the same 85inch sony TV , 2 questions: 1) While watching night time/smoke in the background scenes on cable and netflix I get pixelation within the video...is this the nature of the beast or any tips to mitigate this... 2) I ran heavy duty thick (size of my pinky finger) hdmi cables, they go up the wall, thru the attic and down the wall. It gets super hot inthe attic during summer months, you if this will degrade or affect these cables in the long run..??

small room for a 85". The small sound system is fitting the room lol Im happy with KEF IQ90 floor standing speakers, 2x IQ30 in parallel as a better matching center speaker than the regular one and other IQ30 as Surround and atmos height speaker in 7.1.2 As TV im still running an old FullHD Panasonic Plasma, best at all :D

technically no. it will just use a 5.1 and split the surround channel with the rear or height channel on your receiver. so, yes it would need hdmi arc to get use of the full system.

Ok, this is now a few of your installs i have watched, and i don't know if it is customer requests for such things, or just poor layout, but i have to ask. WHY are the L+R speakers and the screen SO HIGH up???? That would work fine using the Klipsch with adjustable angle tweeters, unless they like standing up to watch a movie i guess... At least put the L+R upside down to get the tweeter somewhat closer to where it should be.

I have an all Klipsch system paired with a Marantz receiver, except the subwoofer. For the sub I have an SVS. Klipsch subs can't touch SVS IMO.

The tab has a stopper to keep it in place when you turn the screw because the screw is threaded inside the tab. Otherwise it would risk falling down if the screw got loose.
