My brother & sister in law loved Malaysia when they went a few years back, they went to Kuala Lumpur & really enjoyed the great mix of city life, day events, shops, food etc but also amazing hotels with great spa facilities, pools etc so can have a relaxing city break or a more full on touristy trip full of activity & sight seeing.

We went to Thailand this november - beginning to december. We also did it to escape the gloomy weather here in the Netherlands. Thailand is not too hot during this time of year. We highly recommend it. We always start our trip at the same hotel isanook Bangkok. Its in a quite neighborhood. Good to recover from the worst jetlag.

Love Ikea! Coincidentally, I had a dresser from Wayfair that was also too small, got an Ikea one (dif model) and it has been much better! Our daughter also has an Ikea dresser for some of her clothes and I just love them! Gotta get that power drill though! I got one years ago kinda on a whim thinking, hey we have our own house, probably should have this tool around. That is like my MVP tool for sure! I would recommend Marie Kondo’s way of folding clothes for dressers so the clothes stand vertically. That way you can see what it is from the “spine” and you don’t have to dig through piles (take out pile of Tshirts or the ones on top of the one you want to wear). You just grab the one you want by the spine! I used to hate folding clothes and putting them in dressers, but now I don’t mind as much cuz i know it wont be messy from me trying to take out one shirt.

I was considering it, but that method of folding definitely takes a lot more time for each item, and I knew realistically Kyuho and I would not continue to do it each time we have to fold laundry 😅

For your holiday: I'd recommend going to any small island in Malaysia! Rawa Island is a private island and I highly recommend it if you're looking to completely disconnect and relax. Max 3 days is OK. Another resort I would recommend is Japamala resort in Tioman Island. These islands are easily accessible if you're flying to Singapore or KL as there are buses you could take to get to the jetty. If you want more of a bigger island, Langkawi Island is highly recommended for both the rolling hills and the beach. My favourite resort is Temple Tree Resort as they have these traditional houses from all parts of Malaysia as part of the hotel. It's so cool! I'd rent a car though to get you around the island. It's fairly affordable and off the beaten track.
