Small Sweat Bee (Lasioglossum) Nesting Colony - at home!

The planting of native plants is paying dividends this year. It's phenomenal and we are sort of freaking out everyday with the new life we observe. Sweat bees are pretty cool. My favorite ones are the ones that look like tiny Hornets. They come in big numbers where I am from, but they are harmless (I think) lol

We love them too!!!! We push past sooooooo many bees here all the time and are only stung when we step on them, which we totally get. ha! :)

Omg. I don't have any of these plants but I have gravel and these guys chase me off the porch. 😅

They must have a bare soil patch somewhere they are loving to nest near you. How fabulous!! I watch them all of the time and they never bother me. Such beauty in such a small being. :)
