This is a miniature valveless pulsejet running on acetylene, at last it runs at 1200 HZ!.
In the end its only 125 millimeter long inside.
It is not the smallest one, I now there are smaller ones running on hydrogen.
Maybe this is the smallest one on video.

Make it so small that the sound it produce is over our hearing frequency, that would be cool. Some grams of force but not a single sound.

Thanks for your video it showed up a lot of faults with pulse jets but it also provided a lot of answeres. I have machined up a version that takes advantage of the wasted heat,in doing so, heats incomming gases while cooling the motor internals, this should also reduce. decibels to a tolerable level. The intake speed is also increased without moving parts to 1to3 times exhaust gas speed. Internal design prevents the oscillating gas from making an exit other than Exhaust! adding efficiency

The interesting question would be what levels of thrust were you getting from it. The fact that it runs at 1200 Hz is neither here not there if it only produces the thrust of a sneezing gerbil.

Its a wierd process but surorisingly simple. Once you light the fuel and air it expands down the tube, decreasig the pressure in the combustion chamber. Then when the gasses are expelled out of the tube, air is rapidly sucked back into the chamber and the residual heat re-ignites it. All this happening over a 1000 times a second
@ShootBlueHelmets

what is the smallest valveless engine that you think i can manage to run on propane. I need a very small engine to power a rotary rectifier for public demonstrations. If you can provide length and inside diameter, that would be awesome. I need one with front intake.
@carbon1255

+ifocoeur desir well I imagine the jam jar design is the smallest and simplest. Also no valveless jet engine has a front intake, all holes provide thrust. Valveless are also inappropriate for providing rotary power, basically useless in that regard.

The self evident genius of this palm sized pulse jet is found in Santilli H+H+CO stochiometric carbon arc rod plasma generated fuel requiring water, immersed carbon arc rods, and 36v DC 40-50 amps. This elegant Solid State jet should be used in near closed-loop (having only fuel/air intake) Heat Pump, Powerplant, HVAC, Blast Furnace. Energy, steam, diamonds/rubies/saphires, diodes, hot water, anyone ?

Secondary exhaust I think. It's valveless, so it uses an "aerodynamic valve", a u bend as an intake. So thrust essentially comes out of 2 pipes. That's my take at least. Any other suggestions?
