Just saw that reel on Danny’s website. That is one of his best looking reels to date! I have a 12’4” pin rod from Stryker that I built, and I found that the action on the rod was faster than the rods I’d been using and when I’d get a bobber down and set the hook, I was pulling the hook thru the mouth and not getting a good hook set. Took a bit to adjust and start getting better hook ups with that rod. Looks like you’re doing pretty good on the pin tho!

Strykers definitely fish faster than what I previously ran also so that’d make sense. I’ve got some learning to do on both I’m sure but I’m loving everything about the combo. Thanks for watching man!!

John got me on my first pin chromer and coached me through it. Had it in the bucket and I couldn't have been happier.

In my 4 years using a center pin I find it better than a spinning combo. I’m actually heading to oak orchard in a few hours with a friend gonna see what are center pins can do in the cold and high winds

Great video! I’ve watched a ton of your videos and just moved to the west side of the state. I’m excited to fish the piers more. What might be bitting this time of year off the piers? Any tips on what to use. Thank you, keep up the good work!

Right now you’ll have a shot steelhead coho and browns. Bottom sitting spawn sacs should get you some bites. Thanks for watching!

New here….,you called the fish a “skip” or what was the word you called a steelhead? Do you call them that if they are small? What’s a center pin? Thanks great vids!
@sbsoutdooraction305510 ай бұрын
Yesir we call small steelhead like that one a skipper aka skip. A centerpin is a reel that allows your bobber to free float at the speed of the current. Thanks for watching let us know if ya got any more questions!

Great video. Are you guys using a slip weight on the main line, and a shot line. If so what’s the advantage?
@sbsoutdooraction305510 ай бұрын
No real advantage just keeps ya down there in some of the quick short runs. Thanks for watching!

I finally got some action on my Bloodrun Pinland. 3 weight/UL 10.5' amd it was amazing. I still have to get a reel as ive been using it with my spinning reel. What state is this? Ive had terrible luck this year up until a couple days ago. Not a bite in four god damn trips. However nobody was getting anything the first two trips, third was black friday ans a circus, but fourth everyone but me got them. Luckily the east branch of the chagrin flows through my brother-in-laws property.

You guys add any scent to your spawn bags?
@sbsoutdooraction305510 ай бұрын
Certain scents work on certain days. Most days it doesn’t matter, but always a good idea to keep a few different ones on ya

Anyone know if they are catching steelhead on the betsie right now. Wife filed for divorce today. Thinking about giving it a try to clear my head from bad ideas.
