I watched 20 different videos about this pedal today after I picked up this pedal. They all show some basics but I had to watch 20 videos to learn about half of what the pedal can do. I really wish I saw yours first because not one video covered everything about it. Yours was the first video I saw that showed how to switch to the auto mode. Thank you thank you thank you.

I agree with other comments, this is the best explanation of how to use the RC3. It provides important details which are not on other tutorials, and not always in the manual either - many of which can result in serious obstacles until you learn them - and I did, finally, learn them thanks to Reid.

The BEST review and demo I have seen on KZbin for the Boss RC3. I have a JamMan Stereo Solo XT that has been playing up in auto record mode. It only kicks into record when i attack the strings and play hard. So looking for a new toy and been eyeing the Boss RC3 looper. Im sold now. No showing off or running throgh just a few features. This was a ripper instructional video that highlighted the features. Well done and what a shame your hits aren't higher. Many groovy thanks mate.

I got my pedal yesterday and the guy was so generous he threw in around ten mini to medium cables including 2 custom fender ones for free, the pedal he sold for 90 euros.I have a looper on my Axe fx 2 bit it is limited to only 30 seconds.I had an RC2 years ago and sold it since the Axe fx2 had one, I regret selling it.BUT. This RC3 is a great pedal which gives me a lot of inspiration for creating more loops. And this video covers everything about it, I will use everything except for the 'one shot'. Thanks a lot.

The thing I like about it the best is, if you have a semi-acoustic guitar, with this pedal you basically have an unlimited band, if you know what you're doing. The versatility of the semi-acoustic guitar, for percussion, if it has a mic fitted, which is essential, you can definitely make enough sounds to sound like a band. All that just layering on one channel makes this looper pretty formidable and crucial for making new music on the fly.

Just a note to say how much I appreciated your video. Loved the way you showed all the features of the pedal. I've just bought one today and now I feel like I just about get away with not reading the manual. The manual is so small too that I can't really read it, so resorted to downloading a PDF version. The Boss site is pretty good too and it's great to be able to transfer backing tracks or rhythm tracks to the memory slots (appear as folders when connected to your PC). Lots of free content to fill up some of those slots with and I guess you could put your own stuff in there to play along with as long as the files are in .wav format.

Can you please tell me if when we transfer our recordings to the computer, is it normal that the pedal drum beats, which we use in these recordings, are not transferred to the computer? I mean, I end up just having my guitars and/or basses with no rhythm/beat on my computer savings. It's normal or is just another anormally that my old pedal have?

The one-shot mode thing at 8:25 is gold. So, this is to say that I could build a loop of, say, a blues, copy it to a 2nd memory location, make the first one a one-shot, keep the 2nd one to solo over in loop mode, and then go back to the one-shot for an ending? Or maybe do a third loop with an ending and make it a one-shot? The middle loop will repeat until I tell it to change to another loop? I was under the impression that there was a bug that put a a short silence between one loop and the next that made this impossible.
@ReidsReviews3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Yes your scenario should work. I'm not aware of a bug that inserts silence. Sometime they address bugs through updated firmware though.

I've had one of these for while but for the past couple years it's been sitting in a drawer. I found it frustrating to use. And even though I didn't hear it in your video, I never thought it sounded good when doing playback. For me, the drums were a nice feature. I only used it to practice so the drums were basically a metronome. When I bought it I thought it would be a good songwriting tool, but I was continually frustrated by all the buttons doing several things. I never even figured out it had an auto start. These days I just go direct and use a DAW and sometimes I use the six button looper on a Helix. The DAW is a little to complicated for just getting an idea down, and the Helix doesn't save loops. After watching your video I think I'm going to dig out the Boss and give it another try.

Definitely didn't know about the one shot mode, that's bad a$$! I have this with the stop/memory shift pedal, which allows you to tap tempo, undo last loop, and clear altogether. I'm trying to figure out how to memory shift with the stop pedal though. It would also be cool to know how if you can communicate a "One shot" or save recording without playback, shift memory, and then go back to the memory channel using the stop pedal, if that makes any sense.

Amazing demo / review! I've come here a few times getting to know my looper. Question for the community... or Reid... :) I'm having a small issue and maybe you can comment on your experience. There seems to be a very slight delay or empty space after it ends the recording. Follow me on a simple example... I'm trying to record like half a second of a chord. Just a quick recording that says "DAH!"... then loops "DAH-DAH-DAH"... forever. :) I play a chord, then press record. I stop the recording after about half a second. At this point I should have a recording with no pick attack, just a chord ringing in a loop. But... Immediately after I stop recording, I cover the strings with my hand... then I observe a loop with that says "DAH-String mute-DAH-String mute". I'm totally 100% covering the strings after hitting stop... but... alas. Any ideas?
@ReidsReviews3 жыл бұрын

I was able to get a drum beat for an entire song from my computer onto the pedal and when I hit the pedal it plays, but if I don’t hit the pedal twice to stop it, it’ll play over again. Do you think the one shot would prevent this from happening? Or if putting it in one shot, will it go to the next number or phrase? Any info on this would be awesome. 😊
